I do find it interesting and mildly amusing that the freezes, MP issues, framerate and game bugs are acceptable in this game and no one really seems to want to mention it. Where as when rainbow 6 V2 was released with pretty much the same type of problems it was unforgivable

I think i'm about 5% done after 4 hours. I got a bit lost in the city and the story kind of came to a halt. Back on track now!

Danny you dont seem to understand, this is GTA IV, God could not have done a better job at such a game... it is above everything, it is flawless

Not had any freezes or anything so far here. What MP issues are there?..are you talking about connecting etc or the actual MP game itself?

The only pop in I have really noticed is with the lighting actually, objects have been good and I haven't had buildings pop up at all. Once your eyes get over that filter it all comes together really nicely, there was an initial shock though on my first play of it. Framerate has only bugged me in the Mp modes where it can chugg along pretty badly.

Its just this forum really where no one accepts it, gtaforums are full of people complaining!

Even with the devs working on a patch now, they'll have to test it and get it approved and so on, I can't imagine that quick a turn around on this.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

I could move the 360 upstairs but it would not be the same on the Dell 24" and crap sound as downstairs on the Pioneer 50inch and 6.1 Dolby Digital sound

Oh such a dilemma, wish i could only play on a Dell 24"

Perhaps when you start PAYING for you games like the majority of here do you'll appreciate them a lot more.

Maybe because 99% of people who own the game dont have such issues, only a hand full of people (freezes, dont know of any MP issues) , and even those people dont make a big fuss of it because its such an awesome game.

Personally im not seeing any issues with it at all.

Also, the game is still very much based on the same but beefed up Renderware platform as SA and previous 3D GTA titles and therefore suffers the same flaws in a way. It's the engine thats more the culprit really, but then I myself haven't seen any issues with my 360 version.

I think any game should firstly make sure the framerate is stable - at least for most of the time. Then the graphics should be clear and sharp enough so you can see what's going on and play without it hurting your eyes etc. If the level of graphics detail etc. means the former two things are compromised, they should cut back on the detail. I think on a fixed hardware platform it isn't really acceptable otherwise

Well frame rate does often affect game play so I agree that it should be stabilised.

I cant say the framerate has stopped my enjoyment of the game. I did notice it dipped a few times but i suppose im still in awe checking out the city.

Am I the only one sort of underwhelmed by this game?

I'm only playing on a 32" screen, and I definitely think it needs more.

I find it midly amusing, but for different reasons, I haven't come across any of the issues - apart from not being able to join a ranked match on Live last night.
To me the graphics are pretty much what I expected, I can't remember seeing the blurring people are complaining about nor the fogging - in real-life things a fair distance away arn't clear! and when you look out of a car travelling along things looked blurred going past. Maybe I'm just too easily pleased (doubt it) or others are just to anal.

Dont worry mate. When or if you do finally get it, you will be pleased. Just do what i did and try not to get caught up in the hype, then make your own decision on how good it is.
