*** Grand Theft Auto IV - The Official Thread ***

Yes. ever since I started trying to use it for multiplayer game problems I'm getting stutter and crashes.

On the 360 do you always have to sit through those opening stills or is it just me? I'm bored of seeing those guys playing dominoes.

I've just been playing this on my bro's PS3. The FPS does seem pretty poor, especially at night or when driving fast. It can be very difficult to control the car sometimes because it's so slow. I wasn't expecting this on a PS3 tbh, it's the first time I have ever used one.

Also, when we tried the multiplayer, the PS3 crashed several times...

The game itself seems great, but it's a shame about the poor FPS and multiplayer issues. I just hope it gets fixed soon.

Got it today and have played for a few hours, tis good but that distance blur is disappointing on a 92" projector screen, it's not a good idea to have anyway because in games you need sharpness as you could be looking at anything and your eyes would focus on it in reality.

I take it that it's for performance right? otherwise they should have an option to turn it off or at least come up with a better way of doing it, also at times things seem a bit washed out and with odd visibility even at close range, there should be some options for stuff like that, the shadows are also poor but apart from all that it can look pretty good when it wants to! :)

I agree with the distance blur, but I thought the shadows look very realistic in GTA4.

Does anyone else have problems reading the text such as missions, etc? The text seems far too small and I keep needing to get close up to the screen to read it... My vision is perfect btw. :)

Rockstar probably knew about these issues before the game was released but knew that hype will let them get away with it. After 2 hard freezes in 5 minutes, I can't be bothered anymore. Ten out of Ten. Yeah.

I've played the game non stop for about three days now. I bought it on Thursday at the same time as my 360 Pro (Purple store bundle - 360 Pro, GTA IV, Gears of War and Halo 3).

I haven't had a single crash or lockup, singleplayer or multiplayer, and while I do see framerate issues, nothing as bad as the 15fps claimed on here. It definitely doesn't hinder gameplay.

All in all extremely happy. :)

What a ridiculous statement!!! R* quite possibly did know there may be some errors etc but saying that the hype would let them get away with it sounds like you are saying they just put their feet up and said "**** it, we can't be arsed to fix it cuz it will sell loads anyways LOLZORZ!".

Even if they did know about errors, which I doubt as they were quite few and far between but seem to be getting more regular now, then I'm sure they would have been working feverishly to fix the problem.

The game is a buggy pos. If it was any other game having these issues the internet will be in meltdown but its GTA and its so big so its exempt from any criticism whats so ever. Rubbish. Have you seen what Rockstar say you should do to try and fix your problems? You need to practically disable every thing on your ps3 from the screensaver to the internet. Rubbish.

Does anyone else get freezing when you press "Games" on the mobile for Multiplayer on PS3?

Can anyone test it out now?

Multiplayer was fine a few days ago but twice when I select "Games" it freezes.

Gah my Xbox 360 and GTA IV bundle should have arrived Yesterday, it didnt. ParcelForce had a second chance to deliver it this morning (My mate who ordered same item and time as me got it today), they didnt.

Wont get it until Tuesday now :(

The shadows aren't terrible just poor, you might not notice it as much on the average sized TV but they're pretty grainy looking really, while obviously the text size isn't an issue on a 92" screen, I do think the mobile contrast is not very clear, I can also see how some stuff like text and icons are too small because relatively speaking they appear to be.
