A console's main aim is to play games, therefore the main reason to buy either.
I agree about people who already have one, but not many people have both to be able to choose. The fact is, whichever you buy the game for, it's gonna be awesome!

360 and PS1 (the greatest console known to man...i have a PS2 but it died 4 times).
(i did manage to complete ico, starfighter and MGS2 several times before it gave up the ghost though ^_^)
