***Grand Theft Auto VI***

So towards the end of of current console's lifespan, then remastered version for next PS and X box and only then PC version?

Just looked back at the GTA V timeline...

First trailer - Sept 2011
PS3/X360 - Nov 2013 Release
PS4/XOne - Nov 2014 Release
PC - Apr 2015 Release

I'd guess they'll go for late 2025 initial release for the Christmas run in on PS5/XSX, probably a relaunch on PS6/XWhatever when they appear (2026 seems maybe a bit soon) and a PC version to eventually appear late 2026 or early 2027.

How the hell are consoles going to run that to look like it does in the trailer?

I don't think there's any need to worry about GTA going Politically Correct any time soon :D

Also so many details in the trailer:

If I have to wait about 2 years for the pc release after the console, I do own an Xbox series X but I'll still wait. I don't usually play games twice so I'll wait for the better version.

The console hardware is already on its last legs, especially with the way game development is going. I'd rather wait for the PC release to have a more enjoyable experience.

Maybe we'll get a console refresh before then.

I still need to play GTA5 and RDR2, have them in my steam library so need to get on it at some point

You’ve got plenty of time before GTAVI releases.

Someone joked about needing a 6090, they’re probably not wrong for anything other than medium settings.

Looks very good but bet we all need upgrades to get anywhere near to the density and draw distance they’ve just shown in that trailer.

Would still be surprised if it’s not a simultaneous format release this time around though. Let’s just hope it’s not an AMD sponsored title!

RDR2 was definitely one of my favourites - so much detail.

Now with FSR34.8 - return of the shimmering. Jokes aside, hope there are no sponsors, or at least, if it's sponsored, that there are no compromises.

Well so far they've specifically only mentioned console in the press release, so I wouldn't hold out too much hope of seeing this on PC any time soon - thread probably needs to be retitled "Grand Theft Auto VI - Probably not in 2025 for PC" @SkeeterUK :p

I find it really odd that in this day and age, they are not just developed simultaneously. The console architecture now is so similar, and I imagine it is especially easy (relatively speaking) to cross platform between Series X and PC. Most other big games are released on PC at the same time these days.

If they don't cross platform on release, the cynic in me will suspect that they are planning on double dip sales/have some sort of deal with Sony/Microsoft so as to push console sales massively just for this game.

It's funny seeing people on social media rambling about "how the gfx don't look that good compared to alan wake 2 or rdr 2". Do any of those games have even remotely the same level of things going on in terms of npc's, vehicles, buildings etc? Sure they could have made it visually look more real but at the expense of the cityscapes and character amount that gta games are known for. It would be a much smaller sandbox overall as well if they focused more on visuals than having something that felt like an actual city.
Them people must be blind,it destroys any game out there

Or on a slightly more positive spin, a bit like with GTA V, the current gen consoles will get a compromised version and then PS6/NextX/PC will get a proper fully implemented release (though they're still double dipping by releasing on an aging console gen first...)
