Assuming tenth gen consoles do indeed end up with 2026/27 release dates, I reckon the best a PC release can hope for is to be alongside those.

TBF though, the original release date was at the same time as the next consols. However, it was delayed three times.

Saying that I reckon they must have seen the triple dips because of the late release and will now do the same if the next gen comes out in 2026....

I played GTA V on a Xbox360(512MB of RAM TOTAL!) first and RS did an unbelievable job with it. It looked better on the Xbox One but that had 16x the RAM and processing power, it was not 16x better though. If you love the game, graphics and the odd stutter are not a big deal.

I’m obviously in the minority here but, although the graphics etc were nice, i didn’t think much of the trailer.

I’m probably just a grumpy old git but it all seemed a tad overdone and pathetic. Like it was going all out for the pubescent teenage boy market. Oh look there’s a woman twerking and here’s naked women doing TikTok video. And the OTT florida loonies.

I’m hoping it’s more of a satirical take on TikTok culture and you can spend the entire game mowing those cretins down.

Yeah as i read this back i think i am just a grumpy old git. Anyhoo it’s probably going to end up a day one purchase for me after all that :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Tom Petty just got arguably his biggest career boost you could possibly get in terms of extending his appeal down a couple more generations, and he's not even alive to know it.

These things take so long he may have still been alive when it was decided, but of all the the more obvious Miami type music genres they have could have gone for, old school rock and roll Tom Petty got the honour of being the song that will always be most associated with GTA6. Millions of new young fans who never even heard of him will be checking out his music today. Also I wonder what Phil Collins song will be included as per tradition, they're running out of his best ones that they haven't already included.

Hopefully they'll include songs they've already used on Vice City as there's too many iconic songs that fit the setting so well.

For sure. Rockstar absolutely understand the basic design principle that music dictates theme. I remember one of the GTA 5 trailers using Sleepwalking by The Chain Gang. Just perfect.

I bet they agonized over what song would best set the tone for this trailer.

I'll definitely be waiting for the PC release. I don't plan on getting any of the current gen consoles at all.

Why it can't just be a simultaneous release puzzles me as the series X is almost a PC anyway.

The social media presence in the game will be almost entirely parody and satire.

It's not like the game is going to force you to use an in-game social media app like you would as a TikTok addict, spending hours scrolling through content on your in game phone.

People really like to find the negative in everything :p

Indeed. The general narrative for GTA games has been built around parodying the social norms of whatever era it finds itself released in. That's the central design philosophy for the series narrative, the over indulgence and sickeningly exploitative nature of modern capitalism. Without that, it's just a pretty cool sandbox.

No of course not, i don’t think anyone suggested or thought it would be like that. But i reserve the right, as a grumpy old git, to be annoyed at its mere presence at all!
