Graphics Card Warranties (UK Only) - Let's see how good they really are!

I've updated the front page to include Sparkle, VTX3D, Club 3D, also shifted the order around, also moved EVGA to the top alongside Gigabyte.

If anyone has any extra detail, or any RMA experience that differs from the front page chart, please don't hesitate to share you experience.

Also anyone who has had to RMA a graphics card recently, let us know how you go on.

Cheers. :)

EVGA warranty sounds good - whats normal cost to send to Germany - insured - say a £500 card

thinking of getting a 780 and 50:50 between Gigabyte and EVGA atm

cheers
EVGA GTX 780 Reference Card.

40 x 25 x 6 cm

998 g (1kg)

Have a look on parcel2go, or parcel monkey. I just checked parcel monkey - Parcelforce Priority International works out £16.79 inc Vat + £7.99 for £500 Insurance cover, so roughly about £25 mininum.

Thank you Nelly.
Was looking at Interlink(DPD the ones OCuk use) and they were £26 to Germany and £22 to Newcastle - £600 card next day. Seems dear now.

EVGA:
"When we receive the product, it will be processed and your replacement will be shipped back to you within three business days."
"All products returned from EVGA's RMA department are thoroughly tested recertified products. If an RMA is necessary within 30 days of the original purchase date, a new in box OEM replacement will be sent in return if the product was purchased new-in-box, subject to availability. All recertified purchases will receive a recertified product for replacement."
"EVGA requires that you send only the product and NO ACCESSORIES. Do not include Cables, CDs/Games, and Manuals"
The last one seems odd; and I’ve already packed the GPU complete.

Still don’t know who to send it to?
In the first year, you should goto your retailer to arrange RMA, although in some circumstances the retailer will cover the whole warranty.

I would request an RMA through your retailer, or if you want it to be quicker go straight through EVGA.

6 weeks in total for my Asus RMA. Not too bad and new card in place of my old one.
I think that's terrible, well compared to the others. At least my spreadsheet is fairly accurate lol.

I'll update it with that info, thanks. :)

Would you buy Asus next time? I suppose it's not too bad if you have SLI cards, can still play games with just the one while you wait till the world ends for your RMA to come back. :)

I've got a failed Gainward GTX 680 in it's second year (Bought from OC in May 2012).

OC are telling me I need to contact Gainward and Gainward haven't responded to an email from last Friday (or to the two others I've sent chasing)...
I'm guessing you emailed >> [email protected]

Did you try posting in here? >> http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=119

Look here, it might be worth quoting this in your message to OcUK customer services >> http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18542850

Hi there

I've negotiated with Gainward some special terms for OcUK:-

  1. Very aggressive pricing, so great pricing on Gainward cards, including Phantom models.
  2. Express 48hr RMA service with OcUK in the 2yr warranty period. If your card goes faulty, we shall endeavour to have it swapped out or refunded within 48hrs.
  3. Removing heatsink/cooler will not void your warranty with OcUK or Gainward.
  4. OcUK customers service of course, which is the best, plus these forums.
Let us know how you get on.

Great work there Nelly. Lets see them weasel out of that one lol.
Lol cheers, speaking of RMA, I'm fuming!! I received a MSI GTX 780ti Gaming, the box had no selophane (these come sealed), and the box was torn, some minimal scratches, obviously someone had DSR it!

Went mad on phone to ????, and the admited it had already been sent to a previous customer! Anyway got offered either a £20 discount to keep, or they would arrange courier to collect, so that's what am doing. Grr!! :(

LtMatt said:
Blimey thats poor. Was that OcuK? What was wrong with your previous 780?
Nah it was another company, but it was the best price I had ever seen any custom 780ti on a one day deal.

I was a total muppet selling my 780 to be honest, my next screen will probally be the Eizo Floris FG2421 @ 1080p so it would have been easily good enough.

I might just get another 780 or 290 once I've got my money back, probally a blessing in disguise, 780ti/290x isn't really worth the premium at 1080p.
Gregster said:
That wouldn't sit well with me either and I would want a new one. If someone has DSR'd something, I would say there was a reason and that could be a poor clocker/faulty, so would make me very weary. £20 is a bit of an insult as well.
I was curious if the card actually worked, so tested and it did, 60% ASIC - topped out at 1197MHz on Heaven max without resorting to custom BIOS, I'm guessing the previous purchaser sent it back just because of that.

They did offer to send me another, I was very tempted but was weary it could happen again. Think I would rather pay an extra £30+ knowing I'll actually get a brand new one from somewhere else.

At the end of the day, you pay the cash you expect something brand new, not second hand with a bashed torn box, and scratched card. I did contemplate keeping it, but it's the principal of it.

Now I'll have to wait another week for the readies to be put back in the bank. :(

Not overly impressed with MSI. My 290 Gaming was received by OcUK on 16th June and yesterday was day 28 and a replacement was shipped to me for delivery today. What annoyed me is someone else on this forum sent their 280 back to MSI and got a replacement within 2 weeks and this was after I sent mine in.

NVM, it's already sold.
Not sure how RMA's are done, but maybe they send them off in one or two week batches, hence the variable of someone receiving a replacement within 2 weeks.

Does anyone know if the RMA for new PowerColor cards are still dealt with by OcUK?

Looking at the chart on the first page the turn-around is a speedy 48-72 hrs but it says the RMA base is in Taiwan.
Yes, I've altered the chart, but according to this dated 15th Sept 2014, someone waited 35 days! >> http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18624035

For any MSI users, this maybe handy, although maybe for direct returns to MSI...

MSI - RMA Check

To check the status of a RMA use this link http://rma3.msi.com.tw/RMA_Portal_Customer_Service/Default.aspx

  1. Select end user and location
  2. Online Repair Progress Query
  3. RMA No: (*Required key in) < note: if there is a -E on the end leave that part out just the AA0-00000000 type data at the beginning for the number
  4. Barcode No: (if its being a bit awkward on giving you the information with just the RMA number this is for the Serial number of your product)

If that is of no help contact MSI directly >> How to contact MSI

Another way is through the Main registration control panel to monitor the status of your RMA http://register.msi.com.

Note: MSI uses DHL typically to ship orders back to customers on Express Delivery

The OP of this thread is massively out of date and needs editing or deleting really
It does need tweaking, but the majority of this information is accurate, Zotac / Gigabyte do need ammending for sure. OcUK's warranty is different to the majority of retailers as they deal with the warranties on behalf of the manufacturers.

I was updating it every 6 months or so, but it's not massively out of date as you put it, that is for sure.

It's purely something I did voluntary like most of the stuff on this forum is by the members for the benefit of the OcUK community, I'll update it when I can be bothered, not when you want it updating, so do one lol.

Cheerio. :)

andybird123 said:
okay, well, you've got several manufacturers down as "48-72 hour replacement direct with OCUK"... OCUK are now saying they send all cards off to the manufacturer and to allow 28 days - it's causing confusion as some people have taken it as an official OCUK statement on their policy

my comment above wasn't directed at you so much as at a mod or member of staff needs to clear up the status to potential customers
No problem, sorry for being ratty.

At the time I did save some links, just incase this happened...

Powercolor (2yr Advanced Warranty: OcUK 48-72hr turn-around which OcUK deal with) >> http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18571601

Inno3D (Warranty is exceptional as it is with OcUK.) >> http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=28293305&postcount=9

If people are having to see their cards sent to Hong Kong etc, I can change these back to how they were, because I changed them in line with what OcUK said in various topics, maybe the turnaround isn't as good as it makes out.

andybird123 said:
No worries... to be fair to you, this isn't the first time that OCUK have put something on the forum / on the website about fast turnaround / onsite warranty that has then been somewhat different when people actually try to RMA something
Yeah, it's a good job you brought this up. I don't spend as much time as I used on here, but any feedback in this post is appreciated, I've always tried to make corrections to the original post.

If people can keep posting feedback in here on how their RMA's are going, no matter where you purchased, some manufacturers are quicker than others if they have to deal with it, going back to Hong Kong is going to be a hassle.

Asus have always been crap, if they have improved I need to know as an example.

I found someone a few weeks ago who dealt directly with Zotac for an RMA, this was how it worked out, just for reference purposes. I'll update the original post soon.
drspa44@HUKD | Posted 17th July 2015 said:
For the record, Zotac were pretty good.

Communication was a little slow, but over the course of a 10 days, I was given a UK address to send my card to (at own cost), waited a few days and then was told because they had no GTX 465s, they would replace mine with a refurbished GTX 760, which is a nice upgrade.

Just to let you all know, I've contacted a moderator for this post to be removed, as I don't want to update it anymore on this forum.

You will find a more general / broad one on various websites including Hexus as example within the graphics section, which will be updated tonight.

I've had the thread reopened and updated the front page, other than that some other recent changes are as follows:

  1. Zotac RMA's are no longer processed in the UK, they are sent to Hong Kong, so dropped it from the Green section and moved it to Orange.
  2. Also updated all the web links for the brands as a few were out of date.

If any of the information is incorrect, or you have new info from a recent RMA, then please let me know in this thread and I'll update the list again. :)

Smrtka said:
But you send the zotac card to ocuk as per gibbos post no ?
https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=29825356&postcount=1207

Quite and important point as shipping a AMP extreme to uk and to hong kong can be a very different price
The RMA office is still based in Hong Kong, all you're doing is having OcUK deal with it for the full duration as per the link instead of you having to ship it to Hong Kong, then you will wait for it to be sorted.
