Big Joe Gomez at lb. Interdasting
I've said for a while that I'd like to see him at right back, with Trent at left back. I can't see that it makes much difference which side Trent moves into midfield from, and the "shoulder back" role (where the full back drops to centre back) seems perfect for Gomez on the right. Hopefully that's what we're doing!

Klopp said it was up to Diaz and with his dad soon to be released i imagine thats why. Must be horrible though, these groups in South America are brutal.
It will of been hell for him and whilst I get Klopp giving him a choice i doubt Diaz will be fully there mentally for a game of football all things considered even if he thinks he is.

Like you say his dad is soon to be released and isnt yet.

That’s not how it works. The Bournemouth goal vs Man City the winger passed it forward but the goal scorer (sorry I don’t know their names), was BEHIND the person who passed at the moment of the pass, so he was onside. How can he be behind the him and still get the ball? He simply ran forward…

If the person receiving it was ahead of the passer then it needs to have 2 defenders between the last attacker and the goal.

Gordon was ahead of the goalie at that time so that makes him offside if he was ahead of the passer.

We can check whether Gordon was ahead of Joelingtoj easily enough. (He wasn’t).

So on reflection it wasn’t offside.

The only objective thing we could fix out of all this is to have Hawkeye tech on the perimeter of the pitch. The foul itself…you get those one game and you don’t another (I think it was).

Wrong way around that sir on your Bournemouth goal. If you are ahead of play how are you going to get the ball going backwards? Go back behind the play.

I listened to The Rest is Football Podcast where Lineker spoke about when his son was a newborn, (back when he played for Spurs) was diagnosed with Leukemia and said that playing football was the only time where he could clear his mind and not think about all the bad thoughts. He appreciated what the game gave him in those 90mins once a week. In that regard i could see why Dias wanted to play.

I can fully see why he wants to and I respect that, i suspect Klopp allowed the sub only as if fit Diaz starts etc.

No....winger Passed FORWARD, but the scorer was BEHIND the winger in the moment of the pass. I said Forward, first sentence, 16th word.

The word 'Backwards" does not appear in the post, at all.

Not sure where you dream that up from.
