I did laugh at Johnson's excuse about the penalty he gave away "if it had been Suarez as the attacking player, it would have been no penalty" irrespective of the heel clip or the fact you didnt even get close to touching the ball of course (or the direction of the tackle, ie right from behind around the "wrong" side of the player)

Unfortunately I just read Johnson's thoughts on the matter as well, I really wish I could tell him face to face just how stupid he is :o

Is it a personal offence to ask someone if they have a mental handicap on here? (All joking aside just its frustrating and if they do it would be easier to understand.)

Is that an excuse or pointing out Suarez wouldn't have got it because the refs are bent?

ha, please. Suarez is the master of his own downfall. Honest players "get" penalties.

If he didnt have the reputation he would get more, no doubt, but whos fault is the reputation?

pfft.

I want to ask this, as I believe I know what you're on about, I'm not sure how to go about asking.

As many talked about the Suarez penalty there were many lines along the "and being Suarez it doesn't help and he has himself to blame". I don't see anything stupid in Jonhson's Statement. Suarez would have probably got a yellow card instead of a pen.

And i think Johnson in way was telling Suarez to change his ways if he is to benefit from ref decisions in England. I think the lack of independent judgments by EPL refs is as clear as day light.

Should a pen. decision be made on reputation?

No, it should not, however, the refs are only human, and if he DID dive and they gave a pen....they get it in the neck. Self preservation etc.

They will question "hmmm did he dive? I cant be sure either way" now, like I say and "honest" player might get the decision, as where a player with a reputation for diving, might not.

I agree that they should all be made with a 100% clear mind, but they are not, due to the media, managers, players etc. There is a lot to take in to account.

What a ridiculous question.

Referees already have a hard enough job as it is, made far far worse by players such as Suarez who are technically bringing the game into disrepute by cheating to get an unfair advantage!

Its pretty plainly obvious when a player dives compared to being tackled and going down naturally.

Gerrard / Rodgers, hell, anyone he will listen to, needs to tell Suarez to knock it off, lose the reputation rather than acting like he has been hit by a raging bull when he goes down its ridiculous.

For the record, as a United fan, I say exactly the same about Ashley Young aswell.

Just my part on it, the fact that Valencia skinned Johnson, and he then storms back for the tackle and Valencia goes down.....what are you going to think happened?

Valencia played for it.
Johnson played himself into the position by getting losing position, getting skinned and then charging back the way he did.

Being a ref is a poisoned chalice, dammed if they do, dammed if they don't, if we didn't have replays, it would be VERY different, you think how many times we see a foul before we can pass judgement? They must do it in a split second. I know its their job, but its still hard.

exactly.young, bale and others too have had accusations of diving but these two now seem to have stopped doing it. infact, i'm sure i remember reading somewhere that ferguson stated he would be 'having words' with young over one incident?

yet no one at liverpool seems to want to address the obvious fact that suarez' antics are detremental to their game. sunday was a great example of this and then to cap it off, johnson comes out with that (quite frankly) laughable statement.

Oh dear :D :D :D

Johnson wasn't skinned and neither did he lose possession.
