It is sad you can compare our referees to the current stand ins on the NFL. Thankfully ours know most of the rules even if they are scared of certain managers and have **** eye sight.

the thing about that goal/pen is, johnson gets skinned on the halfway line due to him being so far forward, chases all the way back and gives away the penalty! there were 3 other liverpool defenders covering.
he should've either not got so far forward in the first place and thus not be out of position, or he shouldn't have bothered rocketing back.

Still should have crossed it to Giggs, he was lucky Johnson was stupid or he would have wasted that chance completely.

Johnson wasn't in possession and got taken out by Agger rather than beaten by Valencia.
So he telepathically told Agger to take him out so he didn't need to get into a race with Valencia?
Don't forget he also told Agger to lose the ball in the first place.
i don't want agger or any player for that matter to get injured but that clash is comical.

If he doesn't know he is coming, why is he sprinting towards the ball, along with Agger? Surely if he didn't know, he wouldn't be going for the ball at the same time as Agger...

I'm sure he did know Valencia was there but you posted a gif to try and prove that Johnson gave the ball away and was skinned by Valencia when neither happened. Johnson was never in possession of the ball to give away and didn't have the chance to be skinned by Valencia because Agger slides in and takes him out.
The gif you posted backs up exactly what Breeze said.
No I didn't, clearly we have differing opinions on what 'skinned' means. I think its both from a skill point of view and a speed point of view.
In this case, despite the huge headstart Johnson has, valencia 'skins' him with his pace to both win the ball and escape the challenge...
I'm not sure how you can see that Johnson had a huge head start when he's running in from an angle and Valencia's running in a straight line.
You can't tell from that gif but Johnson also partially stops/pulls up/pulls out of the challenge when he sees the challenge coming from Agger, which in hindsight, he shouldn't have done. Agger stopped any race between Johnson and Valencia.
