Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [31st March - 5th April 2017]

COquelin doing his usual really late and stupid tackle, never getting to the ball, on a yellow early for absolutely no reason at all. Coquelin taught by the same people teaching Denilson, Diaby, Song, Flamini, Ramsey, etc.

Neville saying Otamendi threw himself to the ground, after watching a replay in which Xhaka clearly catches the guy in the achiles which hurts pretty badly.

Xhaka though, Coquelin already on a yellow for a worthless late tackle, Xhaka's had even less chance of getting the ball and still decided to go in and get himself a card. Has he learnt nothing at all from his cards this season, has Wenger not drummed it into his and Coquelin's head not to throw yourself in when you have no chance of getting the ball.

lol how did Sanchez get a freekick for that, he ran at two players standing next to each other, tapped the ball through them than dived between them, ref a couple yards away somehow doesn't see it as a blatant dive. I love Sanchez when he stays on his feet, but he's such a diving little ****.

Classic Arsenal, be so bad at the start the other team takes the lead and even eases off the gas because they think it's so easy. This lets Arsenal get back in the game, they even fluke a goal. So Arsenal are playing great right... meh, City just switched off after taking the lead, 12 seconds after Arsenal equalise City turn it on again and a goal within a couple of minutes.

Ref bottled that, Coquelin should be off, clear foul and that was going to be like 4 on 1 defensively. Coquelin stopped a break by just running into the back of him. Where on earth was the defence though, they were already playing it out, why weren't our midfield already on the way back, same crap over and over.

How are Arsenal ending this game with 11? Marriner is a clown.

First Xhaka should've been gone after going over the ball and then Coquelin for a blatant cynical challenge when City were breaking, yellow all day.

Apart from that, how embarrassing is it watching Toure swan around the pitch he can barely even run. He's a joke.

I swear City looked to be building into something while Toure was frozen out, he came back in the team and got a few goals in some weak games like a carling cup or something, but then became a mainstay. The team has just gotten more and more dodgy and unconvincing since. His attitude sucks and the whole team looks more lazy since he's back. LIke today 1-0 up they took their foot off the gas completely, the way they played in the first 5 mins they could have won the game 5-0 and easily, but they backed off immediately at 1-0... was like watching a Mourinho team.

Man City should have won comfortably but their defence is an accident waiting to happen.

The defensive issues are obviously a problem but they're not clinical enough either. The game today was very similar to the Spurs and Chelsea games - City looked great going forward and it looked like they could score at will in all of those games but they never killed the game off with the 2nd goal*. It's almost as if they find it so easy to cut teams open that they get careless in front of goal because they seem to need far more chances to score than most sides.

*Yes I know they were 2-0 up vs Spurs for a minute or 2.

What a stupid way to look at it, so Barkley should be let off just cause it's a Derby game? No the tackles from Everton were disgrace all match long not that any Everton can can admit it he'll your manager thinks you played well and we over reacted, tackles like Barkley shouldn't happen regardless same as if cans tackle landed it would have been a potential leg breaker which was awful luckily he part pulled out and missed

Just coming in here to flag how terrible the grammar is in the above post :) Please tell me you posted via your phone? Pretty please?

i think the standard of english football has taken a nose dive

The standard of defending has yes.

No Mkhi or Martial in the starting 11 :/ Shaw getting a chance to watch from the bench

Not even sure what that line up is - 4 - 3 -3 or 4 - 4 -2

After the two dropped points at the weekend (even if City - Arsenal drew also) , its going to be really hard getting top 4 imo

I feel for all players concerned, but at least the teams around us have just as crucial injury problems atm (even including Europe were we aren't exactly scoring loads either)
