GT200 GTX280/260 "official specs"

Well, my GTX8800 in sli only get 33 frames in very high settings (Vista DX10), @ 1680x1050, with NO AA, so that means the 280 is at least faster than two GTX8800's so not slow.

I would be very surprised if they're more than £450, even at release. They should settle down to £375-400 for the stock cards pretty quickly I would expect.

Yeah and ocuk said 8800GT were only going to be £138 on launch........:p

man I really want this card (GTX280) next week but I've just been working my monies out and can only spare £450, not a penny over, has there been any talk about pricing yet ?, you guys think it'll be that cheap ?

If you compare to 9800GX2, the announced price before launch was $600 and the GTX 280 is $650

At launch you could find the GX2 for around 400 so you should find the GTX280 for around £430.

What a stupid price for a graphics card, and sadly Im thinking of buying one :D

TBH, Crysis @ 30fps looks quite fluid because of the high quality motion blur. If the min fps is 30fps, then it should be very playable.

its average FPS not MIN

so the minimum is still going to drop to like half that at that resolution at least.

Doesnt look much faster than a 9800 GX2 for games like crysis, that is quite disappointing considering the game doesnt like SLI very much and the GTX 280 is a single chip card.

But, at least the game will now be playable at lower resolutions (for people who are buying the card just for this game :P).. i suppose we can expect almost double the minimum rate than last cards
