You mean in terms of GPU multi-functionality? Sure the GTX 200 cards can be used to speed up Photoshop CS4, decode high-def movies at 2x the framerate and grill sausages, but games performance seems to be a load of hype over nothing particularly groundbreaking.

Why aren't these up for pre-order yet?
Becuase there is going to be no pre-order, its going to be a hard launch with no a large amount of cards.

I've been having a long hard think about this GPU's release and I think I'm gonna hold off on this one for a week or two, I normally always get the next gen GPU's on release day but the benches from 'PC Gamer' have really really put me off, half a grand for 10fps improvement in Crysis, if thats true I really don't see the point tbh,
I'm one of the rare people on here that actually really enjoyed Crysis (just seems popular to bash the game on here recently) but as the game progressed I was a good 20/30 frames away from being able to enjoy the game in my native resolution (1920x1200) so an improvement of 10 frames really want give me much at all, no doubt a few of you guys will end up buying the card so I'll be waiting with anticipation for your benchmarks.

What in a "OMG Nvidia are releasing a die shrunk G80 with a few more ram chips and SPs for £450 and its June 2008" kind of way?

Is that when you're running a timedemo? Some do give good results, especially in DX9.
