GTA4-yet another good looking Gfx mod!

Out of interest are you doing the handling & carcols files as well ?

You should replace carcols for the right skins and handling, well, for handling.

Unless the cars you're replacing are the same/similar models to the ones in game, then I recommend using the Realistic Driving EFLC mod which has the best handling around. The guy who made it claims to spend a few hundred hours on it. I can vouch for it being one of the best GTA IV mods.

My suggestion would be to install it first and then replace any particular car's handling once you install it.

The wdt and wft explanations make sense but if neither of them do not affect the handling then the Evo V that I imported into the Vehicles.iso shouldn't have changed in handling.... but it did... very badly.

I manually imported those two files for that car.

This sounds great. Thank you!! So this mod only replaces all cars and their handling characteristics?

Edited after I did more testing.

For those of you who are getting crashes at start-up using iCEnhancer 1.2, make sure you are not running any applications that utilise d3d, For example: MSI Afterburner , EVGA Precision , RivaTuner , OSD Application etc.

Also make sure you already have a game save before using the mod, I found I needed to go into game and complete the first mission to save a game save otherwise the game would crash while trying to create a new save game with iCEnhancer 1.2 running.

Hope this solves your issues.

Otherwise this will also cause a crash at start-up.

Deleting the d3d9.dll is the ENBSeries mod I think so it wouldn't look as good I think? :confused:

(I've not tried the mods with GTAIV, but I remember the ENB d3d9.dll mod for Burnout Paradise)

What I posted above fixed my crash on start-up issue, The iCEnhancer still works without d3d9.dll at least mine does.

Oh great, I've just tried the car pack and I'm getting the TAXI bug! Nothing but Taxi's and one car type. :(

Any ideas for fixes?

It's only illegal to mod in EFLC vehicles in GTA IV.

I managed to get ENB running but I can't seem to run the improved texture pack at the same time. It runs but the overlay flickers as do most objects in the game.

Have tried with crossfire and without as well as fiddling with the in game settings but no joy.

Any ideas?

There's a ton of taxi's but it's not so bad that you can't carry on with the missions. Sometimes a new car pops up. I'd love to fix it but it's fine.

Anyone else's game turning really dark for no reason?

Yeah, I'm not sure what he's trying to achieve by disabling ENB mod.

Ok guys after more testing, you are correct it does in fact stop it loading.

Although it still makes some graphical modifications it is nowhere near what it should be.

I finally got it to load with d3d9.dll inside gta iv folder without crashing, I made sure everything that uses d3d9 was closed including all OSD applications etc and it finally loaded, So I guess last night something was still running in the background without me knowing hence why the game started when d3d9.dll wasn’t in the GTA IV folder.

I will edit my above post so people don’t get confused etc.

I have to say this iCEnhancer mod is absolutely stunning! Makes it look like a completely different game!

Here is a couple of in-game screenshots with iCEnhancer and the 7gb texture pack running. (It seems the screenshots have come out a little grey, In-game that isn’t there)

I got it working it is pretty impressive, although trees are abit green and blotchy and there is too much blur even with blur filter turned off.

Change the TREE settings in iceconfig in gtaIV to these:
LeavesReflectionAmount=0.0
LeavesSpecularPower=0.0
LeavesAmbientAmount=0.95
LeavesColorMultiplier=1.0
LeavesColorPow=1.8
LeavesColorFilterR=1.0
LeavesColorFilterG=1.0
LeavesColorFilterB=1.2

Makes the trees much better
