GTAV performance thread.

i was hitting 80fps yesterday lowest of 60 unless im hunting but today im barely hitting 65 driving at high speeds im getting around 55 :s

Yeah, same thing is happening to me. One day I'll get great performance, next gaming session - massive performance dip. Any thoughts as to what is causing inconsistent performance ?

I found I'm getting 98/97% GPU utilisation and 85-90% power from both 780s in inner city areas (average fps around 80-100 at 1440p) but when driving fast in countryside or on motorway, GPU utilisation goes to low 90s and power drops a bit with frames at around 65fps. Not sure why.

Im running 980 SLI with a Swift and the stutter is not terrible but very noticable, SLI turned off and its considerable smoother. Anyone found this aswell and has anyone managed to fix/improve?

Ive noticed if i remove my 60 fps frame limiter from RivaTuner i get a little micro stutter on panning camera shots, might be worth limiting your frames to smooth it out.

No crashes here with AB running either :p

EDIT: For post 180.

I finally settled on these settings at 4k, gsync means I don't suffer if the fps dips below 60 so very smooth

Anyone found a way of NOT getting crashes while using MSI AB ? (Usually happens around 2-3 hours in with err3d code)

Nah I've just disabled the overlay. Seems the obvious choice instead of downgrading to a 290x

Oh-ohhh. ;)

Tapping off the 144fps cap constantly with an average of 90-120 fps. Dips as low as high 60s in the rural parts sometimes. (Three TitanX)

Matt

wanted to point out this

Reviewer using a Trixx 8GB card (of course pre-overclocked) quite a lot of crashing. Could be why some people are seeing this?
Thought you should know as if reviewers are showing this It wont help the AMD Cause :)

Any one else noticing lots of texture pop in
I got the game as a gift from someone, although not my sort of game per se i just enjoy driving around. It took 2 hours to install the physical copy then approx another hour to download 5gb patch, lol. I noticed a lot of pop-ins with litter, shadows are strange at times, i have seen the shadows drawn as you walk around, odd shadows cast on characters at times, there is odd shadow flickering here and there on the ground and on buildings. It's quite impressive at times from a graphics perspective but other times not so much. I don't understand the VRAM thing with 2-way SLI what is that all about?, i thought multi gpu's don't stack vram with windows 7 and the latest nvidia drivers so i'm not sure what that is about?. Also i don't understand why you can't select nvidia TXAA without enabling MSAA, why would they force two types of AA if you only wanted to use nvidia TXAA?, also nvidia PCSS shadows cause graphic glitches on my system, i think though that my gtx 780's can not handle this game properly. Not bad but nothing special but it was for free so i can't complain too much :D
