GTAV performance thread.

the good news is my 290 tri x does not crash, the bad news is i still cant get the thing to clock above 850mhz, begining to think mabe the hard drive is a bottleneck, going to give it a bit more of a tinker and if no joy stick it on the ssd

I had to roll back my overclock a bit after i got a crash TBH, nothing major, i just dropped from 1600 to 1580 on the mem speed, one of my cards has twitchy memory in GTA, tis anoyying cause the other one is good for 1900+

i was getting the d3d innit random crashes like a few people here , i just rolled back driver from 350.12 to 347.88 and all is fine.

Didn't get any crashes last night with MSI AB, I don't run the OSD as I have the G19 keyboard and have all the stats on it's small display.

Turned off Vsync in-game (59hz-59FPS) and used the Nvidia control panel vsync option.

Smooth rolling glued 60FPS for around 3 hours (stock Titan X). Will post my settings if anyone is interested in good IQ/Performance @ 4K.

OK

In a bit of a pickle....

My frame rates will be solid 60 FPS

I have fixed Vsync in Nvidia control panel.

Yhis worked great for a few hours then had the same GPU spikes and frame rate dropping to 30. this causes rubber banding, and stuttering. unplayable.

AB graph of issue

I have tried everything.

The settings I have will give me 60 FPS until this happens...

PSU?

Back ground process?

Duff card?

Uggghhhh

Thanks, any help appreciated...

What confuses me here is the amount of people who seem to play with an overlay like AB all the time. The last thing I want to have on my screen whilst playing this game (or any game for that matter) is a load of immersion breaking text showing GPU and CPU data. The only time I had any kind of overlay was when testing out the game for the first time - I just had a frame rate display - ever since then I've had nothing overlayed onto GTA V.

Couldn't agree more.

A mate was having a load of issues in dying light, turned out it was precision causing it

That's the reason I shelled out for a Logitech G19 with LCD Display :D

Only thing I have on screen is an FPS counter for all games. It's a habit/ obsession (I use bandicam by the way, seems the least intrusive, causes no probs and has a frame rate limiter option which I use sometimes).

I have a GPU widget (windows 7 gadget) on a third screen to the right that shows all necessary info like card temps, usage, clock speed, volts etc etc. It shows things are running as they should be or not. If a game's running well, and good - then I hardly look at it.

I thought widgets are a hackers dream now ? They are almost as slack as shankley :D
