GTAV performance thread.

What confuses me here is the amount of people who seem to play with an overlay like AB all the time. The last thing I want to have on my screen whilst playing this game (or any game for that matter) is a load of immersion breaking text showing GPU and CPU data. The only time I had any kind of overlay was when testing out the game for the first time - I just had a frame rate display - ever since then I've had nothing overlayed onto GTA V.

I don't have any on screen overlay's.... Just switch it off in the settings....

By having it on I mean it's always running, afterburner controls my gpu clocks and fan profile. I don't always have the osd on, just when checking things. It's a simple key press to turn the osd on/off when required.

Been using AB with no issue too. I just like having the safety factor of seeing the GPU temp, running a 580 it tends to get pretty hot. If I had a 2nd screen I'd run it on that instead.

any info on what it's for?

I wonder whether they'll fix that awful bug when there's a sort of square surrounding and moving with your character, messing up shadows and stuff. It's hardly noticeable for the most part but when you do see it, it's really annoying.

(It's been discussed fair bit on here already) I've got a terrible feeling they're not going to do anything about it. The exact same issue is on the console version (ps4 at least).

It's a blatantly obvious problem, so if it was 'fixable' I think they would have sorted it for the pc version on release, particularly given the extra development delays we had.

That LOD box that moves with you and renders Hi res is properly gash. Yes it doesn't happen all the time, but when you do get it, it really looks horrendous.
