GTX 780 Owners Club

Quite a few SLI owners around here but I think all of us have had two since the start. Benchmarks aside I've only tested single vs SLI in one game, which is known not to work well with multi GPU setups (at least at the high end as it quickly becomes CPU limited), and didn't encounter any problems. Didn't really gain anything either. All the reviews I read at the time of release showed good scaling in SLI so if you're playing modern games there is no reason not to go for it :)

cool beans, will get one pay day. :D guna be tight in my micro atx ;)

can we just write maxs boost clock without oc

for example mine boost 1071

can do 1149 with OC without voltage increase

EVGA GTX 780 OC w/ACX coolers are absolute BEASTS. :)
Well... probally be a large scope on that due to reference cards running at much lower clocks.

Gigabyte GTX 780 WF OC 3GB
Max boost clock without oc = 1097MHz

OC without voltage increase = 1215MHz

My gainward 780 idles at 54 degrees:confused: full load max 80.

can anyone tell me if theirs downclocks while idle? I'm sure the 580 I had in before did,

but this 780 stays on stock clocks while idle even when set to adaptive.:(

Yes it should down clock. Check in the nvidia control panel and make sure the power management setting isn't on max performance and is on adaptive. Save and reboot. Your idle clock speed should be around 324mhz.

A little info fellas...I'm getting my 780 tomorrow, If I connect an HDMI cable from the card straight into my amplifier to the TV, will I be able to receive both a picture and sound?

Cheers.

Set your fan curve to go to 100% at 50c if the little noise won't bother you.

I did this on mine and it maxes at 55c in BF3. Idle is a bit high though, what case do you have? Mine idles around 25-30c in my Corsair 650D.

I have a 650d too, tried fully removing drivers but still won't downclock, gonna do fresh windows install just to make sure.

idling at 33 degrees now after fresh windows install :)

Really fancy getting a 780 and switching back to nvidia, Am running 2 6950's in crossfire right now and although I can still play all the games I wan't, I'd like to escape the occasional x-fire incompatibility and generally slower driver releases than nvidia.

Also Phyx is becoming big now and the games I play (Planetside 2, ArmA 3) look a lot more shiny!

Am I right in saying 2 6950's would be beaten by a 780? Be looking to sell my 6950's but members market is restricted to 1000 posts!

Joining the green side again, AMD taking to damn long to release summin new.. Found a price on the 780 I couldn't resist. This will be going straight under water and clocked within an inch of it's life :-D.

You're just doing it to justify being the OP for your Nvidia drivers thread :p :D

Haha :D

Damn you change your mind a lot! ;)

It's true I'm always switching parts. I'm keeping one of the 7950's to put in my sons PC. Will prob sell the other or use in a build for someone else. Will make a lil profit on it as well ;). Got the 780 at a great price, in line with previous x80 launch prices. A new toy at least until AMD finally get around to launching something new..
