GTX 780 Owners Club

So... using EVGA Precision X I've managed to get up to;

+180 Gpu clock offset
+170 Mem clock offset
+38Mv Voltage

Does that seem about right or still a bit low because any higher on either setting and it crashes half way through valley bench mark! Also GPU goes up to 87 oC when benching, is that ok?

Thanks.

Core is pretty much what I get but the memory is a bit lower. I take it you have increased the power and temperature targets?

I am running (MSI afterburner):

Power Target: 106%
Temp Target: 90
Voltage: +37Mv (1.2v when gaming)
Core Offset: +180
Memory Offset: +250 (or +500 as I can't remember if the number in Afterburner is quad pumped or not).

Overall clock when gaming is 1189/7000 dropping to 1176/7000 when it passes 80 degrees. It will quite happily play hours of Crysis 3 & BF3 with these clocks.

IIRC my core will bench at +200 (1215 boost) but Crysis 3 crashes out after a few minutes. Perhaps with better cooling (water) it might be ok. Not too fussed TBH.

I would say 87 degrees is fine when benching.

Power and temp targets set to max. Scored 2954 on Valley which is more than a couple of Titans and most other 780's according to the OcUK leaderboard so I'm pretty chuffed with that :) thanks for the help.

that is what i have mate. however memory should be slightly higher. 87C seems a bit high to be honest but it depends on your overall case cooling. as long as it does not go above 90C youre fine.

my overclock if not using grid 2 for testing goes to 1196. if use grid 2 i has to be down to 1150 with no overvolting. Eitther on 1150 or 1196 temp is 66C at 60% fans. idle on 33C.
I have applied on it new thermal paste but not much improvement on temps or overclock after it.
Its a great card but I have to say i am disappointed how it overclocks. i may send it back and get EVGA with ACX cooler.

^^ My card does 1228mhz / 1604mhz rock solid 48c max during games. Very happy with this card. 780 is a beast. Crazy to think that next year even more powerful cards will be out :p.

its a palit card isnt it?
did you leave it on air cooling because temps and clock that you have are a lot better from what i can achieve on air.:(

I've had my Gigabyte GTX 780 for about 3 weeks now and played BF3 Grid 2 and a couple of other games with it.

It's great with the ability to run everything maxed out on BF3. I did pretty much run everything on high on BF3 before using my old 8800GT 1GB (Golden Sample version) at playable frame-rates.

However, what I'm not so impressed about is the actual visual effects. I know that my 8800 GT was fast becoming 'minimum requirement' for most games for the past year or two. I suppose moving from something that old I was expecting the visuals to be more.... um... spectacular.

I haven't noticed anything dramatically different just minor improvements. Will I have to wait a while to see the full benefits of the current crop of GFX cards on newer/next gen games?

Or maybe I need to lower my expectations?

I had the same wtf moment when I started Witcher 2 or Metro Last Light - and I moved from GTX260m on a laptop. Some effects (like water) were simply amazing but most textures - a bit dissapointing.

where do you order dwood bracket. I might get one myself cause it seems to be a really cool idea. :D did it cost you a lot and do you mind posting some pics for the forum?:D

Dwood is over at Overclock.net, I think he may have his own website now, but I ordered via the forum.

Will try and get some pics up later..

Mine can do +200 on GPU and +650 on Memory - 3DMark 2013 stable.
EVGA reference card.

Any way anybody tried to replace thermal compound?Any changes?

I did and to be honest I haven't noticed temps being lower but I haven't finished overclocking yet.

what is your total clock with boost and do you have any over voltage?

cheers mate. much appreciated. :)
is it bracket for 780 that you are using or is it one for other model that also fits on 780?

It's a universal bracket that can be used on all Nvidia cards and AMD cards. Nvidia cards are easier as the drilled holes are nearer the centre of the bracket, the AMD ones use a kind of half hole at the edge, can be fiddly as hell trying to get it on :p.

Been at the beach all day else would have got some pics up for you. I got the bracket that can fit a 120mm fan as well..

Here's some pics of the setup on my old 7970's..

This 780 loves water, easily the best card I've had. Literally destroying all games I have tried, even Metro Last light maxed + Phsyx @ 1440P. Really is Titan performance at a less shame inducing price. Maxwell is going to be crazy good...

I seem to have a problem! Since I overclocked yesterday even when I haven't got Precision X open my games are artifacting and crashing :/ have I got very unlucky and killed my card? Any way to tell for sure?

Try dropping your clocks a touch, it's unstable. Not broken :)

It's ok I sorted it :)
For some reason the overclock was still running even though I hadn't even opened Precision X today and I have 2 profiles saved. The stable one I posted yesterday and a work in progress and it was still on the unstable one so I've just set it back to default till I want the overclock. Apart from benching there hasn't been a single fps increase in my games so why do we overclock :p

You should be getting an increase in games, is your CPU overclocked ?

thanks for clarifying this mate. i will order one later today. I found dwoods website where you can order it directly without going through forum: http://triptcc.com/

and well... we did BBQ last night and i completely forgot i was benching my card and I left it for over 12 hours running so pretty much did a stability test :p
my current overclock is after 12 hours of benching on valley on 1440p maxed out:
gpu +150
+38mV
clock with boost 1149MHz
temp 60C
fan 60%
but it was damn hot yesterday so i think thats pretty good temp on stock cooler.
just cant wait now to fit it with dwoods bracket and corsair h series :D
