GTX 780 Owners Club

Just replaced my 570 with a 780 wf3 and very happy with the results.
Runs nice and quite max temp is 67degrees.
Running at stock it is boosting to 1124. Is this correct it seems high.

Here are the stock results:

Just been trying to get this EVGA card to work but now pretty certain it's DOA as even a compatibility should show something.

If I boot using my on-board GPU with the 780 connected it does not show in the bios and the PCI-E slot is shown as empty. If I do the same with a 670 it shows the slot as occupied and details what the card is.

It's dead Jim.........

1124 is a very good stock boost - that leaves it around 5% faster then a stock titan!

Is it a v1 or v2 windforce?

Its a v2 windforce.
Now how do i overclock with precision x.
Do i increase the power target all the way to 105%?
Then increase the clocks?

my windforce both boost to 1110mhz at stock not even tried to clock them yet all I've done is just slightly alter the fan profile. loving them for 3D surround and downsampling from 4k on my projector, a really worthwhile upgrade, around about 50% faster at stock than my old 670 sli (oc'd) across the board which takes some games from previously being dodgy or unplayable to completely playable in surround, metro last light in 3d surround is :O

Well my Pny GTX 780 was working fine for a total of 5 hours.

Then fan started acting up and now the fan doesn't speed up at all, no fan profile. Even tried forcing it manually, works for about 30 seconds.

So the GPU just keeps heating up until hitting 96C, strangely enough you can still play games like this.

Oh well, will return tomorrow.

never used afterburner. What benefits are there over precision?

After a little play i clocked the memory to 1702 Mhz and been clocking up the core. on +100 so far. This is boosting the card to 1215 in precision but says 1106 in GPU-Z.

Very similar to PrecisionX just the layouts a touch more user friendly.

Would be worth the guys who have bought their cards recently, running gpu-z to see if they have the latest B1 revision gpu's!

Well after the classified i ordered that was a few mm too big for my case, i now have an EVGA FTW today, installed and ready to get BF4-ing!

Its seriously quiet, even at full load you honestly can only just hear it, and thats with the fan peaking at around 85% with a quick MSI AB fan profile..

First impressions, very happy indeed.

Quick and bad pic of it next to my old 670 WF...

EDIT: GPUZ screenie, probably means more to you guys than me tbh... Does that tell you anything good or bad?

Mines the A1 revision as well. What's the difference between this and B1? Anything considerable?

...snip...

Very nice. It's a great looking card. How loud it is compared to the WF3X?

Getting some odd benchmark results, got 1673 in Heaven and run the same clocks now gets under 1500.

Edit: Self shaming here, had another copy of Heaven running in the background I forgot to close down, ffs just wasted 30m.

So I am planning on building practically a new PC, I have just bought the EVGA 780 classified so impressed with it that I am seriously thinking of buying a second, however my beloved other half has give me a £600 limit per month for the next six months as she says if I do it all at once I will be bored before the winter is over and just spend more on other stuff which I always do. Anyway so I have a 2500k at 4.7 on custom water loop with an Evo 250gb, 1tb wd, Asus p8-z68 pro, corsair HX850, corsair 16gb 1600mhz vengance memory and dell 29". So do I go buy another 780 classi atm or buy the following

You may notice a CPU bottleneck getting another 780 with a 2500k.

It's up to you though, either way I'd say you'd notice a good improvement over what you currently have.
