Guild Wars 2

What's wrong with the controls?

When using ASDW to move, it would appear I have to stop moving to change my direction. I cannot direct the character with the mouse or in which ever direction the ASDW keys are used.

Example: I can run forward using W just fine. To turn left, I have to use A and W, which is not ideal as the camera movement makes her move further left than you wanted, or change the camera angle with the mouse, stop moving and then move forward.

Most frustraiting!

What server are you on.

Honestly, I have no idea, just started playing to see what it was like. Went straight back to NeverWinter.

Warrior is quick to level. With high crit you can burn down mobs. Easy to play too.

I think that is what I went with, I prefer the melee and close combat characters.

Never seen the point of 'quick levelling'. In fact, if I could have slowed down the levelling in GW2 id have done so. Id also have made it take longer to get your weapon skills.
I've got 4 of my five slots filled with lvl 80 characters and keep deleting my 5th so I can play the early levels which I find the most exciting.

not to sure what you're on about here if I'm honest. You can control your character just fine with the mouse? Or a combination of keyboard and mouse if that floats your boat. Run forward by pressing and holding 'W', hold Right mb down and move the mouse will move your char to whatever direction you want to run (same as holding both MB's down). Alternatively, run forward and hold down Left mb will change camera angle so you can view your surroundings..

That was my assumption, but when moving forward and using the mouse, it just kept going in the same direction. I thought it may be a control option for this, but nothing!!

hmm that is odd Snips

could you try this ? -

press escape, click options and scroll to the bottom.

under the combat/movement settings, untick everything except for 'stop autoattacking on target change' and 'autotargeting'

does that help at all ? as people have said it's perfectly possible to use mouse & keyboard.

Anyone got any tips on a good thief build? My son enjoys messing around on this with me, so we made a thief and level boosted him to 20, wouldn't mind some pointers :p

It's been over 9 months since I last played so I installed it again yesterday and also found out about the new patch. How much have I missed since I've been away? I went to Lions Arch and it's changed a wee bit! Where are all the merchants etc now then? Looks like I've got some catching up to do, I'm on Desolation server if there are any guilds about (lvl 74 Ranger).

Free way to get to Vigils Keep and LA when it's back is click the PvP icon at the top of the screen > Goto the Heart of the mists. When there go straight ahead to the asura gate which still has LA labelled on it.

I see they rolled out Megaserver to other areas in the game. Yet to see it for myself. I hope it will certainly make the game feel more populated now.
