Halal, is it meat you're looking for?

It doesn't have it currently you are correct. However, if the media didn't throw these Halal meat articles down your throat you wouldn't have given two hoots previously as to whether or not your meat from Tesco's or the local Curry house etc was stunned or not stunned.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Do people really trust traditional UK abbatoirs to stun when the inspectors are not around ?

Let's face it as we seen from the fact that Red Rum probably ended up in someones lasagne, unless you're rearing and killing the meat yourself you've either got to live in ignorant bliss or stop eating meat.

Or buy stuff with traceability, farms that rear their own meat and sale it.

I get all my meat from local butcher. Or Costco's.. Local butcher is fantastic, great quality meat and always there to help with best way to cook it, etc. Educational. People say it's more expensive than supermarkets? Maybe a little, but its pennies in the grand scheme of things, and the quality is far superior.

Costco's aswell does AMAZING food, and in bulk :D - some of the fish and chunks of meat from their are devine.

Can you actually call those Indian restaurants then I'm pretty sure that's false advertising and thus makes them legally speaking vulnerable!

I ordered a Ploughman's Lunch in the pub the other day and the barmaid came back with cheeseburger and chips.
"What's this? I asked. "A Ploughman's lunch isn't a cheeseburger and chips".
"it is if they have lunch here." She replied

I'll get my coat.

Knowing where it came from does not equal knowing how it was treated when it was killed.

No, but there's a far better chance, as such places will be far more aware of where they are taking their animals for slaughter, and then bringing the carcasses back.

There is such a massive difference between choosing that and not caring.
and buying some random minced with zero traceability.

The meat I buy I generally know what farm it was raised on, when it was killed, how long it's been hung for, what bread it is. Even had the butchers name before. Try finding that traceability in a supermarket.

Considering many Hindu's and Sikhs are veggies, you will find the vast majority of indian restaurants being owned by Bangladeshi's and Pakistanis. Most of the public who is in uproar about Halal wouldnt be able to tell the difference between a curry house or a indian restaurant. Yes there are indian restaurants run by Hindu's and Sikhs, but they are far from the majority.

This is simply not true. There are 177 million Muslims in India. There is no shortage of Indian Muslims to run curry shops. That said, people do rarely distinguish between the various groups when it comes to take-away.

Ahh you see that's "Ben the Ploughman's" lunch if you'd've asked for "Steve the Ploughman's" Lunch you may have got the correct order although I'm pretty sure Steve would be upset about it!:p

yes but the indian muslims would be serving halal so my original point is valid. The vast majority of indian joints will be serving halal meat.
