Hanns-G HG281DP 28" Widescreen Any good, really??

I really want this screen but over 300 quid now i can't believe its gone up 50 quid in a few months whats happened to the monitor prices i thought things are suppose to get cheaper

Got mine today had it running for about an hour, can't see any dead pixels everything seems good.

Set the DVD player up using the component to VGA adapter and supplied VGA cable and it works fine. (Doesn't stretch the image to fill the screen, leaves black lines at both the top and bottom.)

:D:D

can someone help me with this, ive got a freeview box that i would like to plug in through the vga, ive got the usual scart to component adapter, then if i use the component to vga adapter it should work i would have thought, plugged it all in and the monitor picked up no source, am i doing something wrong or cant it be done?

Just got mine today. Impressive bit of kit. Much bigger than i expected. Picture is pretty nice, comes WAY bright and even all the way down to 10 a lot of detail is lost, contrast not great, loses a lot of detail in blacks. But the size/value more than make up for it. Feel it could do with a higher res aswell, but still very happy with it because its big enough for me to use for tv and save my projector bulb!

Not sure if i'll keep it like that, seems a bit OTT tbh! Massive wow factor mind.

Thinking about getting one of these today to use for my ps3 and PC. The only game I play on my PC is Quake 3 online (which is FPS as I'm sure most of you know)... I've been addicted to it for 10 years now :(

Anyway, will there be any lag issues with it and FPS's in general, I *may* :D venture onto other FPS games when I get my new rig sorted out.

Also is it quick and simple to switch between PC and PS3?

Thanks for advice.

No problem matey.

Yeah, there is a bit. It comes in as you move around 6 inches each way from a centered viewpoint.

All i do is game, surf and do a little photo editing when i'm using my DSLR.

Gaming is the most important aspect for me so for that this screen is great as it has a fast response and barely any input lag.

Perhaps something like the Hazro 26" would be better for viewing angles and colour accuracy?

Your Crysis screenshots just sold this monitor to me. Thanks.

Just bought :D I'm currently sat in front of an LG 17 " CRT after previously having a 22" Viewsonic ( which I paid £366) for from ocuk in 2003. How things have changed.

ERm, didn't get the HG281DP though - I got the HG281DJ instead. The only noticeable difference is the base is black instead of grey, which I think suits it better.

arrived this morn =- just turned it on - wears my sunglasses?

HEHE, thing is bloody bright - guess I'll have to root through this thread for the best brightness settings :D

Oh , first impressions, gorgeous and EPICLY MASSIVE :D - goes lovingly with my blackwidow tower :D

Any further impressions?

yeah, I'm wondering how the hell do I connect it to my PS3? I presume I need an HDMI cable :-/

Colour wise very nice and vibrant, haven't done any further testing than just desktop use yet but will let you know once I get some cod etc. and ps3 connected.

Should be a selection of adapters to convert verious inputs as per the image Chris1712 posted above.

Here it is again:

Some of those might help - however, i would recommend an HDMI cable for the best picture quality.

HDMI cable yes. Looking forward to your COD and other games experiences. I'm really split in two whether to buy this or not.
