Hard Drive Pricing going up at an alarming rate!!!!

Been looking at gettting a 3TB drive for a few months now,its my Bday on sunday and i was going to use some Bday money to get a drive, not now at those prices.:(

Thanks for the heads up.

Only got 160GB of storage, desperately need some more - just waiting on getting paid...

Luckily I got my Crucial C300 128GB for something like £145 some 8 months ago, a Samsung F4 2TB for £52.50 two months ago from you guys and my trustworthy F3 1TB a couple of years ago.

Nothing to worry about if you ask me. :p

Word from one our of trade distributors:

At the moment we, cannot quote, ship or backorder any hard drive from any vendor, the stock has been frozen by the vendors because of the flooding issues in Thailand which has put the products into global constraint.

Fun, fun, fun :(

Bah, guess getting a few more drives for the micro server is out of the window for the time being then :(

I've had 3 samsung F4's from here 1st 2 were purchased last september they cost me £169.98, 3rd was in december that cost me £58.74.

So I've just grabbed 2 sammys @ £62 each from my local pc shop, which I still think is a decent price.

Typically this comes fairly close to me building a new system. Guess it's all the more reason to opt for a slightly larger SSD, cheers for the warnings. You never know, perhaps this'll persuade a few of the SSD manufacturers to do some good deals to try and glean higher sales than usual due to the increased HDD prices.

Glad I got my extra 2TB for my media machine a month ago though.

This is crazy, because I've seen deals (few weeks ago) where people having been buying 1TB external hard disks from Supermarkets at like <20 quid each.
