Harry and Meghan to resign

OcUK even GD is one of the least psychotics forums left. Other sites are flooded with conspractists and one topic posters to the point of being unusable.

Something Awful still has a quality user base and Reddit is good for general internet stuff. Twitter is good for world news and comedy.

exactly, the impartial by-standers are the best - nothing to see there

Harry doubling down on enemy he killed comments - important to be honest with respect to mental health, even suicide concerns in soldiers - but, as reported, so far, he didn't say that in the book,
he's putting his invictus involvement in jeopardy.

I was listening to The Rest is Politics podcast this morning and they touched on this briefly. They mentioned that this story came out years ago and the papers that now condemn him called him a hero. Amazing how their opinion can change when the spin requires it to do so.

Hmm so lets see what happened in that time to make the same newspapers and probably a lot of GD users take a totaly different view?

They are not actually the same story though.

The "hero" story you are talking about is him admitting to killing taliban fighters, something that is to be expected in a warzone. The focus is on the phrase "you take a life to save a life". The outrage from what I can see is that it seems like he is "bragging" about how many he has killed while he was out there.
Maybe the hero stories does put a number on how many people have been killed but it isn't obvious from your blurry screenshots.

They may be on the same topic, but these are not the same story, from the evidence you have presented.

But he isn't bragging about it. That is just the spin. I wouldn't normally post James O'Brian but he reads the section of the book and its not bragging when its in context.

It sounds quite well written. I've no interest in the book or the whole story tbh, it does show the British press in glowing light of brown.

It was ghost written by the same guy who wrote Andre Agassi biography apparently. He also had a troubled childhood, maybe this author is good at writing for people with difficult childhoods.

I've also no intention of reading it, just doesn't interest me. People's reaction along with the State and press treatment of them is far more interesting though.

After watching that I can see some semblance of him being a crusader against fake news. Taking it in a different direction to what Kanye took with his Jew angle. He could make a career out of that, but I doubt it as he never veers from talking about himself. Meghan has instilled that in him and the thought probably never crossed his mind.

So that isn't what is actually written in the book? That is your spin on it. Its like the prefect example of cognitive dissonance.
Written by someone else. Everyone will spin things for their own narrative, will they not?

I agree with the context of what is written in the book, rather than the trash headlines. Just pointing out that they're both playing the same game. There was no need for putting a number on the amount he killed though.

So I put "bragging" in quotes because I couldn't think of the right word at the time. What I wanted to put was crass at the time.

Thank you for the link. Bragging was actually the right word.

Maybe I missed it but there is nothing in that paragraph that was read that explains why he felt the need to tell everyone exactly how many people he killed.
