Has Anyone Moved From Nvidia To Amd And Not Regretted It

Well Raven has highlighted AMD has an active rep presence in the forum to help with user issues and is looking into the problem.

Last NV rep introduced themselves only to have the misfortune of NV having a major driver issue shortly after they arrived, never heard of them in here again.

What do you mean? Nvidia driver are perfect.... :p
Well other than all the issues that get swept under the carpet to be forgotten and never spoke about again.

I have these thoughts as well from time to time and it always falls back to needing a GPU primarily for 3D work. for me AMD does not cut it with 3D, Cuda and raytracing. Nvidia far out shines what AMD has to offer and is much more widely supported in the industry. if AMD had the same level of adoption tech and support for my industry i'd buy AMD products tomorrow.

When it crashes it comes up with a AMD driver timeout message, sometimes I can close the message and the game is still playable, other times the game is unplayable until I restart. Strange thing is my brother has the exact same pc setup and doesn't have any issues.
This is a long standing issue with WoW and the 7000 series.

Your only options are to run dx11 (ugh) or, as you have done, move to nvidia. It won't get fixed by either AMD or Blizzard.

Please tell who these reps are?

Yeah this was basically my conclusion. Been playing since yesterday for hours and had zero issues so far so seems like the issue was with AMD card.

Love AMDs reference cards from the 6000s and 7000s they’re as good as the FE ones from Nvidia in terms of aesthetics.

Didn’t regret ditching 3060ti for a 7900xt and then a 7800xt. Much prefer the UI of AMD software vs Nvidia.

Didn’t really see any degradation of my enjoyment of games with the so called inferior RT of AMD.

Overall very happy and not going back to Nvidia anytime soon unless they come back down to earth with their pricing etc.

I'm still using a 3080 but I've been playing around with my brother's PC which has an RX 6800. From just playing games normally it just works as you'd expect. With AMD not competing with the high end 50 series I'll probably go with Nvidia again next year depending on how silly prices get.

@AMD_Vik These drivers have the same browser lag and stability issues as the previous ones on the 780m, back I go.

Thread on reddit with similar issues. Rolling back to 24.8.1 fixes any issues, surely AMD can figure it out.

Not sure what's happening with all of these deleted messages. Can you tell me what your system and exact OS build number is?

Can you elaborate on these browser lag and stability issues? Which browser is this with, and under which use cases?

We'll fix whatever we can but the problem with the DX12 mode issues is that we've never reproduced them internally.

I believe end users when they say they're experiencing this - many people have called it out - but there's only so much we can do when we can't actually hit the same issues internally on a debug system :(

have been asking for a simple force vsync option implemented that can be forced from the control panel, like nvidia does,i have been asking for it for a while.. i dont know if its going to be a lot of work but think its a standard basic functionality

What do you mean by this one? You can force vsync in Adrenaline. (Gaming > Graphics)

Unless I have misunderstood.
