has anyone used digital rev?

Got my Tamron 17-50 from them.

Updates on their website regarding the tracking and got here in about 3-4 days.

Impressed.

Just for what it's worth I know a couple of you were wondering about *******. I've had a very straight forward experience with them over this last few days. Money was sent via bank transfer probably just after midnight Monday and camera arrived this morning (Thursday) before lunch. Correspondence was first class and I was updated throughout. A tracking number let me watch the parcel go from Hong Kong-Dubai-Germany-Dublin & then my house. I'll have no hesitation to use them again.

Hopefully I won't have any warranty issues where I'll have to see how they manage in that regard.

On a different note, coming from a 20D to a 5D3 is ridiculous. Even had an "Oh ****!" moment when I was waiting for the battery to charge and was trying to look through the 5D3 view finder. The 20D viewfinder works fine with no battery and was I glad to see in the instruction manual that the new camera needs the battery to work properly. :)

Anyway, just thought I'd share my ordering experience for anyone wishing to use them.

Yeah two purchases from ******* so far and both times have been a pleasant experience :)

Made one purchase from Digital Rev earlier this week which didn't go quite to plan but nothing serious. I asked a question about the shipping on my order and they ended up holding the order while they got an answer from me. I wouldn't have minded this but it resulted in a 48hr wait between paying and the dispatch!

Tis on the way now so providing I get it in one piece then it isn't the end of the world! Still not as cheap as ******* though :/

Please excuse the thread revival, but i'm after a Canon 600d for the wife and after going into John Lewis at the weekend and seeing their prices (which are usually pretty decent tbh), i came across digital rev's price:
http://www.digitalrev.com/product/canon-kiss-x5-eos-600d/MTExMzc_A
Canon Kiss X5 (EOS 600D / Rebel T3i) with 18-55mm kit + Canon EF-S 55-250mm F4-5.6 IS II + Transcend 8GB SDHC Class 6 Memory Card + Digitalrev DSLR Camera Gifts Package all for £527.85 ???
Unless i'm mistaken that's a HUGE saving. JL have just the camera and 18-55mm lens for £512. I think the 55-250mm lens on its own is over £200.

Or am i wrong. I don't really know anything about DSLR's so would really appreciate some good advice.

I've been shafted before by crazycameras where i lost £200
Want to make sure that this is legit, not just the site (as it seems to be from posters in here), but price and kit i'm getting too.

They also seem to offer local warranty too.

The camera is an import, and as such may be branded Rebel T3i instead of EOS 600D. If you order from the digitalrev website (as you have linked) then you will not have to worry about import duties at al (they are covered) and they also do offer a local warranty service for you to send your camera to should it break (as you noticed).

Some people are funny about ordering imported cameras, etc but to me in this financial climate I dont see any reason why not to make a saving like this where possible especially when you have companies like digitalrev accounting for the import duty and local warranty.

I received my Speedlite 600EX-RT from them this week, and I couldnt have been happier with the price and service. That price for the kit seems very very reasonable. I say go for it!

Exactly. The price seems almost too good to be true.
Can you tell from the website whether or not the product is of an inferior standard at all. Mainly concerning the lens really due to the uber cheapness of the deal.
Also as its branded a different name, is it likely to come in a language other than english?
I assume that i can cover myself somewhat if i pay by credit card?

You won't get conned by digitalrev. My girlfriend got her Nikon J1 in pink from them (which are like rocking horse **** in the UK!) and it was with us within a matter of days. Can't fault their service. Just enjoy the fact you are saving £200!
