This thread reminds me to check MM before going on ebay/fb marketplace for used stuff, so much simpler and quicker as you tend to get more responsive sellers.

MM is much simpler to use but obviously eBay and FB Marketplace get many more eyeballs (and many more morons). I don't think the requirements are hard to keep up with but this place isn't as busy as it once was or at least that's my perception. Quality over quantity.

I don't post anywhere as much as a used to. Add to that the 2FA which when I'm travelling (which I do frequently), means sometimes I just can't be bothered to log in at that moment.

Pretty easy to make 5 posts in a month if needed, but still something of a barrier sometimes for some.

I just came back to the forum to take a look at the MM and realised I haven't logged on since 2023 because of the 2fa. I started logging on less frequently until eventually I just stopped. A shame really as I have been reading this forum for a couple of decade and don't any more.

The 2fa only prompts you once every 90 days... besides, you dont need to log in to actually read it.

Except for the reason stated above where it's not. There was just a day where I decided not to open the authenticator app as it wasn't worth the friction

In the latest update, if you log in from the same device it should auto extend your authenticated session

It's a bit annoying as I used to post much more in the past than I do now but can't peruse MM to get a general feel of second hand prices.
