Haswell -E Core i7-5960X, 5930K, 5820K specifications

I'm shocked Andy's wrong.

/Not.

I was thinking about it the other day, when Hexcore's on 1366 launched, we're talking 800 quid.
Yet a 3930K was 430 quid.

So tbh, it makes sense that a 5820 would come in at ~300 quid. I think I've went OTT when I said anywhere from 300-350 like. I should stick to my guns.

Yes, yes you are wrong, like you are wrong about most of the ASSUMPTIONS that you've made about X99, Haswell-E so far in this thread.

Unless you work for a company who have hands on experience of the platform you really shouldn't be so pessimistic and vehemently disparage something which, frankly, you obviously have no clue about.

Well if he does work for a company, he needs to get in touch with us as we can offer him far better prices on Haswell-E than he quoted above, FAR BETTER. ;)

Why shouldn't I be pessimistic? that's my choice to make, yes?

Whether I'm right or wrong I couldn't care one jot about, because as I have continually said I could be wrong.

So please don't come here being a know all just because you are privvy to information that we are not.

In Asrock's defence, they have one of the smallest BIOS teams in the industry and Asus have the largest. Asrock fall 4th or even 5th on that side of things.

Asrock are the only company I have ever known who will specifically perform bios fixes by order. I had numerous private bios updates from them because they are the only approachable company I've ever known.

It's not about the size, it's more about the CPUs you decide to support and they usually go above and beyond to make sure their boards support any CPU that will fit in them.

Intel reportedly launching Haswell-E and X99 chipset on August 29th

http://www.techspot.com/news/57748-...haswell-e-and-x99-chipset-on-august-29th.html

According to a recent report, Intel will launch their enthusiast Haswell-E processors alongside the new X99 chipset on August 29th. Rather than just a paper launch, Haswell-E CPUs and motherboards using the X99 chipset, as well as DDR4 RAM for the platform, should all be available to buy on the day.

Taken from that link
Core i7-5960X=$1000
Core i7-5930K=$500
Core i7-5820K=$300-$450

So
Core i7-5960X=£1000
Core i7-5930K=£500
Core i7-5820K=£300-£450

Sounds about right ;)

Closer to 300£ for 5820k.
I think someone mentioned it was supposed to cost 30% more than 4820k, so at current price it would be 300£ exactly.
