5820k is $40 more then the 4790k so technically it should in theory be £300.

Be nice if that's right Boom.

My guess:

60X - £849
30K - £499
20K - £349

^ good price for the 20k, the gimped lanes wouldn't effect many people only those looking for tri+

+1 Yeah there will be initial price hike in some places but imagine after a couple of months will hit closer to the RRP.

For those running single or dual GPU's 5820K won't hold them back at all. To compare 4790K has 16 PCI-E lanes VS 28 lanes on 5820K.

3 or more GPU's and 5930K / 5960X.

From the die map the 5960X looks to be a native 8 core, no disabled cores?

I'm planning on waiting till I have enough coin for 5960X before making the jump. I want the 8 core ! If I get to impatient will settle for the 5820K lol.

I'd like to go straight to the 60X, might have to wait a few weeks after launch to get everything in one go, 20K for the time being might tempt me though, just move that over to an mATX rig later :)

Depends what price it comes in at, £350 isn't bad.

Looks like Intel are being nice to us, great to see some preorders for 5820k (Hexcore) for £280 in the UK!

Finally, a Hexcore under £300!

Very interested in seeing the X99 motherboard prices now! :)

Hmm odd. That die map looks nothing like the 5960x some one delidded recently. Looks like the ES were just 12 core with four disabled.

Just curious really. But on ocuk, under the mobo section they have the x99 still classed as 2011? Shouldn't it be 2014?

No... That's the name of the socket, not the year it came out. I.e. the number of pins.

Really it should be 2011-3. The third iteration.

Ah right, so in theory, could an x79 cpu fit in an x99 mobo? Or wouldn't it work because of ddr4?
