My plan will be to buy the cheapest 16GB DDR4 kit when I make the jump onto X99, then in a couple of years get a nice high end (by then cheaper) kit.

I sense waiting a while for cheap 10 and 12 core x79 server processors may be my ideal thing to do for next upgrade given what just became available to x58 owners having some cheap new options available. I'll be keeping a close eye on auctions for these 20/24 thread monsters for the next 12-24 months as they will overpower anything x99 has. As a 4k gamer my main priority is to get 8gb video cards not improve my ram and processor greatly now as at best I'm using 20% of the processor in most games.

excellent choice, asus deluxe for me and Avexir Platinum 16GB and the 5820k
