Haswell -E Core i7-5960X, 5930K, 5820K specifications

About as much chance as there not getting one I guess. As it's a launch item quite possibly?

who knows with EK. It's a gamble if they even make it into work most days without freezing.

They told me there wouldn't be any Vapor-x waterblocks. Week or two later hey guess what we're doing Vapor-X waterblocks

Only 2 cores so.... meh.

Meanwhile, a member of Coolaler forums has managed to overclock the Core i7-5960X “Haswell-E” microprocessor with all eight cores with HT activated to 4.0GHz with 1.046V Vcore. The overclock was not only validated by CPU-Z, but the chip managed to complete the SuperPi 1M benchmark in 14.555s. Most probably the “Haswell-E” could do even better than that with higher voltage and better cooling

If that's representative of what they can do and not just a hand picked 'golden' bin, then that's very, very good indeed. A lot better than Sandy-E and Ivy-E 6 cores at similar clocks, and this is an 8 core.

That SuperPi 1M benchmark does seem high for this type of high end processor considering my old Intel Core i7 980X overcloked to 4.1GHz gets 10.078 sec score in Super Pi 1M test.

"In order to boost clock-speed of the Core i7-5960X “Haswell-E” microprocessor to whopping 6.25GHz, the overclocker had to disable six out of eight cores (as well as the Hyper-Threading technology), increase the core voltage (Vcore) to 1.753V and also (presumably) use liquid nitrogen (LN2) cooling."

err ya
