***Haswell -E Owners Thread***

Done cheers Nick,

Next problem, I've got around to filling my loop for leak testing, only issue is my psu (seasonic 850evo) has all black wires, so I'm not sure where to put the paperclip :(

Sorry to derail the thread with these issue guys.
I'll make up for it with benchmarks and as much information for those that need it afterwards.

Edit- sorted guys, leak testing now and all good so far:D

Bit unsure about my maximum stable overclock I've achieved with my 5930k, would you guys be happy running this as a 24/7 cooled with H100i.

4.5 @ 1.350v, maximum core temp in prime95 after 1 hour was 90c, after 1 hour of BF4 it hit 58c.

Would this be ok?

Did you manage to swap the components over and not reinstall windows pal?

This is slightly of topic but relevant I think :P The nice thing about having a H105 on my 5820K, is that my Kuhler 920 was free to use on my GPU. MSI fit a nice metal plate to cool VRM etc. Which is handy..

So whip that cooler right off..

Hi all,

Well after a stressful day the system is finally together and running, unfortunately it's not without it's problems.

I have Corsair 2800Mhz and a gigabyte Ud4 motherboard, i've updated the bios to the latest version f8 i think, but for what ever reason i can't get my ram to run at 2800 :(.

Every time i try loading the Xmp profile (there's 2, 1 is 2800mhz, the other 3000mhz), the system will try to boot but fail and pop me back to the bios screen.

I've not tried doing a fresh install of windows yet so going to try that now.

In regards to overclocking, i've managed to get 4.4 with a quick and dirty overclock using the Multi @1.25.

Can you pick the profile the ram is rated to work at?

also new bios - http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5123#bios

Beta BIOS
Improve DDR4 3000&2800MHz 4Gx4 compatibility

Cheers stulid i'll give it ago, yeah profile 1 is 2800Mhz, but still crashes, i'll try the new bios now.

Set strap to 125, from what i have read anything above 2400 requires you to do this.

Is that base clock or host base clock? truthfully i'm lost in this bios.

Advanced frequency page, at the top change the base clock from auto to manual.

Then you should be able to change gear ratio from 1X to 1.25X

Then you can use lower dividers to reach the same cpu+ram speed.

Should be although keep an eye on it. 90C is pretty toasty.

Starting to get a little frustrated now, updated bios to f9a, memory loaded at 2800, great, sorted a few things out in Windows and restarted, no post, no boot screen nothing, reset cmos, still the same.

All I'm getting is a black screen.

Monitor comes on, keyboard etc, its flash a screen with a9 in the bottom right, that disappears but nothing else happens, remains stuck on the black screen.
