***Haswell -E Owners Thread***

Took the cmos battery out last night and popped in back in this morning, thankfully the system booted again.

I think what I'll do after work is do a fresh install because at the moment it's extremely buggy.

If I enable xmp profile the system goes a bit crazy, fails to boot with a "select boot device" screen constantly.

Anyone got some settings I could try for a 4.4-4.6 overclock?

A clean install would be best thing to do but it could be worth restoring to defaults in bios then run system repair by putting OS disk in.

Do you have any SS of bios main settings?

I've reset to default in bios and tried repairing but it mentions that there's a partition missing, how I don't know.

What's SS bud?

XMP profiles are still a bit ropey I can't use my 3000 1.35v XMP profile without getting 6d system agent code on cold boot

Yeah seems to be the case for me too, still early days yet, hopefully fixes will come fast.

In regards to drivers that need to be installed after a fresh install, do I need stuff like Intel engine management and rapid storage technology?

Hi all,

Well after a stressful day the system is finally together and running, unfortunately it's not without it's problems.

I have Corsair 2800Mhz and a gigabyte Ud4 motherboard, i've updated the bios to the latest version f8 i think, but for what ever reason i can't get my ram to run at 2800 :(.

Every time i try loading the Xmp profile (there's 2, 1 is 2800mhz, the other 3000mhz), the system will try to boot but fail and pop me back to the bios screen.

I've not tried doing a fresh install of windows yet so going to try that now.

In regards to overclocking, i've managed to get 4.4 with a quick and dirty overclock using the Multi @1.25.

Am having the same problems as you, but with Deluxe board(Corsair 2800MHz)

How, I just upped the CPU Strap via Dual Intelligent processors 5 to 125.

it rebooted and loaded up @4.00 Ghz... not sure what to do now.....

I know you didn't want too but I'd do a clean install, may take a while but probably save hassle in the long run, isn't there an option to keep files etc?? Sure there is but never done it myself. TBH I end up refreshing OS every 3 months due to it being corrupt!! Don't know why!! :D does not take that long as I copy BF4 to another drive as it's freakin huge!!

Cheers guys,

Seems to be a combination of teething issues stupidity on my part.

Just a case of getting to grips with this giga bios, so used to the Asus on my hero.

Plan of attack is to get home, fresh install of Windows, then see if I can get my ram at 2800 and overclock the cpu, hoping for 4.6.

What's the max voltage on these underwater? 1.4?
