Is this chip any better for gaming than an i7 2600k overclocked at 4.5Ghz or over?
Which one? Either way I'd say not enough to justify the upgrade.

You guys noticed how painful CPU-Z is at loading?
A clean install would be best thing to do but it could be worth restoring to defaults in bios then run system repair by putting OS disk in.
Do you have any SS of bios main settings?
XMP profiles are still a bit ropey I can't use my 3000 1.35v XMP profile without getting 6d system agent code on cold boot
Hi all,
Well after a stressful day the system is finally together and running, unfortunately it's not without it's problems.
I have Corsair 2800Mhz and a gigabyte Ud4 motherboard, i've updated the bios to the latest version f8 i think, but for what ever reason i can't get my ram to run at 2800 .
Every time i try loading the Xmp profile (there's 2, 1 is 2800mhz, the other 3000mhz), the system will try to boot but fail and pop me back to the bios screen.
I've not tried doing a fresh install of windows yet so going to try that now.
In regards to overclocking, i've managed to get 4.4 with a quick and dirty overclock using the Multi @1.25.
