Have you re-formated? Try your ram in different slots, I'm using 4 x white slots. Registers all 16GB just for some reason doesn't let you use it all :p

I'm using the rampage 5 extreme, using slots A1 B1 D1 C1 as in the bios for quad channel memory.

It it a clean install too.

Windows activated earlier, i have just restarted and windows needs activating again :/

Have updated the bios now but system is still unstable, won't even boot up past bios unless I keep removing the battery every time. Right pita now lol

Have just taken 2 sticks out, moved the other 2 sticks over in slots A1 and C1 for dual channel memory, booted straight up into windows and showing full 8GB in windows now too.

That tells me i have 2 sticks of faulty memory or 2 faulty memory slots on my board.

X99 Deluxe here and half my RAM wasn't detected on boot once, full power shut down and reboot fixed it though... really strange

Edit: mine did not say 'X usable' though, it just came up as Installed memory: 16 GB, when I have 32. But as I said, a reboot fixed it and only had it happen once so far. I have ran MemTest on all sticks and no errors found.

Nice one, is your ram now installed in the light or dark slots?

Still installed in the red slots, but they now have one stick from each set together.

When i had set 1 together in slots A1 B1 and set 2 in C1 D1 they didn't work, so now moved one from each over and working fine :)
