***Haswell -E Owners Thread***

Yep longevity and multiple GPU`s and a bit more memory bandwidth are really what it is about with Haswell-E.

I guess people are thinking that X99 will last as long as X58 has? Given that X99 is getting Broadwell-E next year, and then in a few years maybe some Xeons can slip in?

Also, the increased cache, how much does that help performance?

Running mine on Corsair H100i. Love it :)

Same here , the chips run relatively cool compared to Haswell so afford a fair bit over O'C headroom . No longer thermally limited unlike me 4770k .

Thermal paste seems to make a big difference here unlike my 4770k.

Had IC diomand on befor board died , when it came back I had only coolermaster crappy stuff left .. Peak temps are almost like 10c higher and idle temps are 5c or so higher .

Is it me, or is this wrong.

Running the render test, it only goes to @ x16 2.0, shouldn't it be @ x16 3.0 ?

Been into the BIOS to check, and all slots are on Auto, and all i can select is either Auto, Gen1, Gen2 for them.

Im sure it was @ x16 3.0 when id checked it after id put it together.

EDIT:

Very strange, ive sorted it, now reading correctly @ x16 3.0, went into the BIOS, System Agent Configuration > NB PCI-E Configuration, and changed the PCIX16_3 Link Speed from Auto to Gen3.

Don't know why i had to do that though, odd.

Because currently the board doesn't set GEN3 by default. I've mentioned it to Raja at ASUS already. It's not exactly a huge issue, just have to make a note to change it when flashing or when starting a new profile.
