These are my temps on my 5820K @4.4 about 5-10 mins in to AIDA 64 stability test. I'm a bit concerned about the 85 on one core, or is that normal? I have Nepton 240M AIO.

My system is by and large stable... never seems to have any issues when Windows is running anyway, but now and again it won't boot, and it'll just get stuck on the Asus logo (I have Asus X99-S board).

Does seem quite high.

After a lot of fiddling, I found my system more stable with XMP disabled.

Can now run CPU at 4.375 Ghz and Memory at (reported) 3375Mhz on 125Mhz Bus Speed - 1.25 volts and here's the temperatures I was seeing after 5+ minutes of RealBench

Edit - It's a 5930k not 5820k

How have you set it up in the BIOS exactly?

Been having some fun tweaking this X99. Not too bad once you get your head around the bios.

Running lovely and stable @4.4Ghz at the moment. Runs 4.5 no problem either.

As you can see I went for a 5930K in the end. . .

Feels really snappy, I like it a lot! :D

Cinebench run gives me 1317cb

Destroys my old Xeon :p

Still need to tweak the memory and can lower my vcore a bit too.

Runs really cool on water, quite impressed with the temps.

:)

what are your bios settings mate...Just installed a new GFX card and lost my overclock...I forgot what I did cause I'd had a few beers....

cheers

Moved to X99, just getting used to the setup and running 4ghz/3000mem before I clock her up. Very pleased with temps, the soldered IHS makes a huge difference :)

Not worth moving unless you have 3+ GPU's.

Until games properly utilise 6 cores+ they won't really be any better for games.

+1. You will get a small improvement in games, but really 6&8 cores are best suited to photoshop, number crunching, encoding etc. That is where they really shine.

What sort of gaming performance are you guys seeing on your Haswell-E rigs? Any of you moved from 4790k over to Haswell-E?

Small improvement but we are talking single figure fps gains over the 4790k in games. I moved as a a good deal came up and I was offered a good price for my z97 setup. The main attractions were longevity of the platform and I just like new components to tinker with. I'm glad i did it though but wouldn't recommend it unless you either do plenty of multi threaded stuff or just enjoy new tech.
