***Haswell -E Owners Thread***

Not bad misteranonimous what are you running your cache at.

I can't remember now, but what I did was use the auto overclock feature to 4.3 GHz on the Gigabyte Gaming 5 motherboard, then changed the multiplier to 46 and the voltage to 1.265V. I didn't touch the other values... I'll have a look next time I reboot.

I tried 4.7 GHz all the way up to 1.3V but it wasn't prime95 stable.

As cpu overclocking nets next to no fps gains for single cards i've started messing about with undervolting. I've kept my ram at 3000mhz and base clock of 125 with cpu clockspeed of 4Ghz. I'm down to 1.06v which is giving me load temps in the 33-35 range. Loving the soldered IHS :D

sometimes hardware monitor takes a while to launch with my 5820k, give it a few minutes and it normally opens and runs fine.

Ive got the Asus x99-A, its a lovely board, very happy with it, just went for it over the Deluxe, as i didn't need all its extras, A's got everything i need.

Guys, I require your expert assistance...

I have my 5820k @ 4Ghz, with a high 1.275v core. Not an amazing overclock I know but it required this to be 100% prime95 stable, however I've been messing with this on and off and no matter what I cannot get it to clock any higher, it doesn't even boot into Windows.

I have the Swiftech AIO and running XTU the temps are approx 61c @4Ghz.

What other settings should be tweaked to achieve a slightly higher clock? My mobo is the MSI Gaming 7.

I also purchased the Intel tuning plan and I'm tempted to dump this cpu and try another.

Many of you just seem to tweak the vcore and multi and you're away...so what's going on with my rig?

Your suggestions would be welcome, thanks.

I don't know how the Asus boards with the OC Socket compare with the OC Engine on the MSI, as that may account for something... then again, you could just have a dog of a chip. That said, I've heard Prime 95 is a rather harsh test, and you will never see that kind of use in real world. I'm sure I've even read some people suggesting it's not best suited for Haswell-E anyway. I have my 5820k at 4.4 (Asus X99-S), but I've not tried it in Prime 95, only AIDA64, and it seems fine with that. Give that a go and see if you have the same stability issues.

Thats just the issue though, even at 1.275v core it won't even boot into windows @ 4.2, it fails...I would have expected it to achieve that.

Just amazed that 100% stable @ 4ghz can't even boot when clocked to 4.2.

hey guys I have a 5820k on asus x99-s with G.Skill Ripjaws 4 DDR4-2400 16gb the cpu is cooled by a 360rad on its own so I think im good when it comes to cooling could you guys suggest me some settings to get 4.6ghz on the chip.
