Cheers, no not for this one. So busy for next couple weeks I won't have much time. Gonna try and put in the bits when I get a chance. Not sure when it will be done, CPU not in stock either so might be week after next. When not so busy will post some benchy's etc when all finished.

Looking forward to seeing other peoples setups and results. Guessing people still waiting on parts.

I just don't have the time to sit down and do it properly at the moment, going to take time off in the week! Waiting on my EK block and I should be good to go midweek, can't wait

Haha, nice one.

This new project of mine is gonna be nice :D

So far,

Intel i7 5820K (Corsair H105 Cooler)
Gigabyte X99 Ultra Durable 4
Corsair 16GB Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666Mhz
MSI Geforce GTX 780 Ti Gaming OC
Samsung 840 Pro 128GB
Barracuda 2TB
Cooler Master: 850W Silent Pro
Cooler Master: CM 690 III

Man it's gonna feel like forever waiting for the new parts to arrive :D

Good balanced spec I think.

Thats Raja's guide. Done with ES processors I would not expect this from retails. Given you can cool 1.3v in the first place if running heavy stress tests.

Yes it is but it may give some a rough idea of what to do, regarding volts folk should always have temp monitoring software open which will soon tell them there using too much.

Torn between the 5820k or the 5930k, can't bloody decided at all.

Don't think I'll be using more than two cards in the future so other than the pci lanes, is there any other difference between the two?

Can you afford the 5930k? If so, get that! I would never go for a quad core 5820 (maybe I have the specs wrong?) over a 4770k. For me - and I say for me only - I'd either go 5930k+mobo or don't bother and go 4770k+mobo

Don't shoot me Soldier!

The 5820 has 28 PCI lanes so you'll have 16/8 for two cards, if you decide you want 3 cards that will drop to 8/8/8.

The 5930 has 40 PCI lanes so you'll run 16/16 again with 2 cards, and if you add a 3rd that goes to 16/16/8 depending on what board you use.

There is also the higher stock clock. :) if you don't overclock and are only using 2 cards, then for you, the added extra for the 5930k isn't worth it. :)

Nah, it'll be 16/8 with two cards on the 5820...16+16=32 :)

Cheers 8 Pack.

The main difference that counts is about a £180 saving between the two chips. The 5930K has 100mhz higher stock clock and 12 extra PCI Lanes, apart from that it's the same.

The 5820K 28 lanes won't hinder two GPU's at all. I mean people run two GPU's with the 16 lane 4770K / 4790K and have no problems.

I would get the 5820K and let money saved go towards the system memory so it's less of a burden. The 5820K is blinding value.
