New bios out including UD4, F9C, still can't run my ram using XMP profiles with any sort of overclock, but managed to get it running @2666 with the cpu @4.5 +250.

I can boot to Windows no problem, everything is running fine, but if I press DEL on boot up to enter bios I just get a black screen?

Was playing with adaptive vcore last night on 100 strap. Mucho effort. Very inconsistent and could not get it stable

All the X99 chips seem to be reaching 4.5Ghz comfortably. With a few chips capable of 4.7Ghz > 4.8Ghz with quite a lot of volts and very good cooling.

It's still early days, so hopefully with improved bios / better memory compatibility things will improve a bit as well.

Agree'd I'm average at best at overclocking and I've managed 4.5 from my 5930k by only changing a couple of settings.

Received my 16GB 2666 GSkill today, nice and shiney and £70 cheaper than from the one which is NOT a competitor!! Roll on next week when i can plug em in!!

Its killing me having a 5820k I cant do anything with until the refund comes through lol

How can I decrease my volts/temps but maintain my stability, I'm using 1.350 for 4.5GHZ and want to try and tweak it a bit hopefully down to 1.300/1.325.

Cheers guys, yeah still no joy. I'm going to try and remove the battery, or is their easier way to reset cmos?

Will replace the memory in different slots etc, try and get to go into bios. Not gonna get a chance to try things out until tonight. Weird because it has been fine up until past couple days, I think this happened before the update as well, I just didn't think anything of it as I was running an OC and didn't want to change settings only turn the fans down. Since then I've updated and cannot get into bios at all. Black screen every time.

Still running fine within Windows, really weird, not had this before lol.

can you see the gigabyte splash screen? if not it cant be driver as it hasn't loaded windows yet? more likely bios issue?

@born to kill try a lower level loadline calibration or set cpu voltage to normal and use a negative dvid to undervolt or reduce cpu voltage further

Wazza I cant find LLC on my MSI motherboard, it must be called something else

ohh for msi Idk

try looking for cpu offset and reduce it,haswell-e might throttle down in voltages with a fixed cpu v (not sure) if you set all power saving from auto to enabled in bios

Still cant find it, here's my bios

you might not have it on msi,you would need to just lower the cpu voltage

try enabling c1 c3/c6/c7 and eist or intel speedstep from auto in bios,it might reduce cpu v at idle then

I had this issue after only a few days boom.

I removed the battery and left it out over night, popped it back in the following morning and booted fine.
