Hazro - Any Update?

Mines is still a little brighter on the left, but as above, only visible on white backgrounds and not an issue at all. No banding at all that I can see and no power supply issues that a few have had.

For anyone thinking of getting this monitor i'd highly recommend it. As someone mentioned before internet forums tend to be an outlet for people with faults. Plenty of us are happy now the issues have been resolved by Hazro.

Hmm, mine seems to be noticeable on any bright image, not just white.

As for the gradient banding, could this be resolved with a certain calibration setting? It appears without any calibration and with using a matrix lut with ColorEyes.

Just got mine back, and it's visibly brighter on the left than the right.

Also, on the whole, the screen appears much less vibrant. I'd also go so far to say the contrast isn't as good: some things appear more washed out as a result.

Wish I could go back to the older firmware :( To hell with the banding :P

I've contacted them to see if there's a fix. The brightness difference is very obvious in all scenarios, which is completely unacceptable, imo. It's even more noticeable than the vertical banding was. Dammit.

That's exactly what I was thinking about my screen too, I wasn't sure if it was a result of calibrating the screen but removing the lut profile still resulted in everything looking less vibrant. The darks are much better now since the reduction in the backlight, but everything else looks dull. Bright scenes in COD4 and Crysis look washed out compared to before.

I guess you're backlight uniformity is as bad as mine then, since the left is obviously so much brighter in all situations. It's funny how when reading text on this website, it starts off bright and ends up dull, looks like a day cycle has gone by and it's become night.

Also, I'm still wondering why I'm the only one still experiencing banding issues with this new firmware, so I'm going to try another replacement with Overclockers and if I get the same results then I guess I'll have to move on :(

It's possible that the backlight uniformity will settle down. Mine has been back with the new firmware for a couple of weeks now and, either it has evened out or I have got used to it. At first it bugged the hell out of me.

It is a lot duller, yes, but I've also got used to that. Whereas before, any prolonged use hurt my eyes. Give it a few days at least and then make a decision.

Well I see it from the point of view that OCUK sold us monitors which weren't up to quality in the first place hence why they got their whole stock updated, and we just tried to give them less work to do by going directly to the manufacturer which unfortunately didn't work out well.

And there's nothing else similar to the specs of the Hazro. Think I'll give it till Monday, try burning it in, see if the backlight gets resolved, and see if Hazro can fix the banding I'm still getting, because it's still a great screen.

Are we within our rights to ask OCUK for a replacement if Hazro is unable to deal with this issue? Bare in mind I've owned the screen for about a month now...

one`s you've bought equipment like a LCD Screen from a online retailer, its then up to the manifacher of the equipment to fix or send out replacements, not the retailer you bought it from, and im sure its a policy most online retailers have.

Anyone tried hooking up a PS3 to the 26" model over HDMI?

Just bought one and the PS3 tells me it's detected the HDMI on startup, but then when I try to switch the Hazro doesn't detect a signal on the HDMI input?

Anyone on either 24" or 26" model got any tips for me?

The problems never end and I'm not surprised. Hazro have no idea what affect these firmware changes have because they have no time to do any proper testing of the results.

They're in such a rush that they make a change then send it straight back to the customer who then discovers the countless problems that have resulted from the supposed fix.

The whole thing is a mess and I really don't know why anyone is still sticking with Hazro. I can only think you have all been tricked by the nice looking aluminium because lets be honest, if it looked like any other 24 inch screen, no one would go anywhere near this.

I'm waiting to hear from Hazro with regards picking up the monitor to upgrade the firmware. But, by the sounds of things some people are still not happy with the results once this has been done for one reason or another. To this end should I end up deciding that the hazro I was sold was never fit for purpose considering the price paid and I return it what alternative screens are there. I'd say the highest priority is the colour for photo editing (I'm not a professional but TN etc is unacceptable), with gaming and movie watching a quite distant 2nd/3rd. I don't have the budget for Eizo and the like which is why I went with the hazro. Should I be looking at something like the lastest dell 24"? What are the problems with that that stop people buying it over the hazro bar the lovely aluminium surround?

Thanks
Eric

Thats not right - The Sale of Goods Act gives you at least 12 months and maybe more with the retailer. It is there responsibility to sort.

That's completely wrong, your contract is with the retailer, not the manufacturer. You may come to a mutual agreement that the manufacturer is best placed to sort out any problems, but that's a seperate issue and doesn't affect your rights under the SoGA and other statutes.

A general point though - whoever you contact, a polite and reasonable attitude in the first place will likely get quicker and more satisfactory results. Remember there's a human being on the other end of the phone, reading your email, opening your letter etc... put yourself in their position, and only start stamping and quoting your rights once any other options have been exhausted. :)

I have been following this thread for a long time and at a point nearly bought a Hazro myself. Glad I didn't

I feel your pain guys. I think Hazro should reward you for doing the beta(alpha) testing on theirs behalf and for your own money :(
