Hazro - Any Update?

apart from my major not working issue i never say any sign of green snow, had a perfect screen.....at least i thought so. (bit of banding mind)

Thats not too promising. Thanks for the prompt response though. Anyone else get away clean with a perfect monitor?

Sorry, the banding is present on nearly all screens.

I have the banding problem and some uneven backlighting but no green snow issue.

the backlight problem is also inherent on many screens. There is a firmware update available though.

I would perhaps reccomend the HP as my power brick broke in a month.
Although Hazro have been nice on the CS front so far.

Yes, I've heard as much. I sent them an email before I joined the forums, enquiring on the very same issues. Unfortunately, I can't detail their response (there were some pretty political words at the end of the automated email), but it doesnt seem as bad as I thought. I'm sure they'll take care of it if I do have any major problems.

But still. How noticable is this banding? I've just come from a 6-bit (w/dithering) TN panel, so I've seen some pretty ugly sights in my time. Is this something for the trained eye, or will It stick out like a sore thumb?

I also want to know about the input lag. Is it on par with the 26" model's 7.5ms average?

If there's a price drop I might pick up one of these 24" bad boys. International shipping would only be $51 ... erm I mean £32 (from UK to San Diego, USA) and I don't have to pay VAT.

A 24" standard gamut with glossy coated surface. If I don't get this all my future options will be very few IPS and all wide gamut.

On this very page? My side-by-side comparison does show their input lag, but only for the original version (as tested by TFTcentral). I've added an asterix to denote this; apologies if this wasnt clear. The input lag of the 24Wi is still an unknown quantity to me.

As for the rest of this goliath thread, I've searched quite thoroughly for that one figure - but I could quite easily have overlooked it.

Just wanted to add that I recieved a new power supply after mine died - the new one fixed it. Oddly they've just emailed me asking for me to send the faulty power supply back.. kinda annoying since it's gonna cost me a few quid to post it and it obviously wasn't my fault it died.

Anyone else who's supply died been asked for the dead one back?

Well just email them back saying they should arrange collection as there's no reason for you to send it back. I do this with Dell and Logitech when they ask me to send stuff back after an RMA. If they won't arrange collection then the dead items being sent back magically gets lost in the post.

Yeah,

They've asked for mine back as well

Rather annoyed as it is heavy

Ok i've just had a text saying my replacement power brick has just arrived.

That was fast, Hopefully that will fix the problem

After having the HP I made my choice and went back to the Hazro. It just feels better all round even though it misses out on some features (like adjustable stand. I'll change to a 24" SED display or maybe even the next gen ones that are currently being prototyped (e-paper displays) but until then the Hazro looks like a high end display that won't age over time style and design wise :p

Ok final update then

The new power brick does work fine and my screen is up and running. yay!

No issues with CS from hazro, top marks there

I agree, mrk. Nothing lasts forever anyway. These monitors are only priced and rated according to the times; in a few years there'll be something even better, and these'll be much cheaper. We can always upgrade, but for now let's make the most of what we have. :)

But, as great as both of these monitors sound, I've decided I just dont want to risk sending a faulty Hazro back. Even considering the bias of the average poster here (people will always be more motivated to report a broken or flawed product than celebrate a working one), I think I've seen enough regular users here express disappointment. It's sufficient evidence that there seems to be a genuine QA deficit at Hazro. It's not just the banding/green snow - it's the power bricks too. And who knows what else'll turn up in the next February update?

So, I've put in an order for the LP2475w. I'm pretty sure I'd have been fine with the Hazro - and I might consider one in the future - but I'll be more than happy to go with HP for now, wide gamut or no.

I'll give you my review on this monitor in the relevant thread when I get it.

I wouldnt say the HP looks especially cheap. It's more along the lines of "industrial" and "hi-tech". There's no doubt the Hazro looks much more uniform, but it comes at the expense of the height/tilt manoeuvrability.

out of curiosity how does a montior production line work in the sense do they actually switch them on before packaging as i presume some must if they have a low amount or no dead pixel guarantee?

take hps 24" not many have dead pixel and i hear you can actually have it replaced as its in there terms as no dead pixel....

so in this sense does hazro not test anything and just box them up?

as quite a few have commented about the faults but they must have sold many thousands and if the problem was that severe wouldnt they have a product callback which would be very damaging to there brand name and also they could be reported by the many disgruntled users:D to a governing body for trading dodgy / malfunctioning hardware.

i know and understand they have tried to rectify the problems people have had by updating and releasing new firmware so i presume this is an open and shut case and the couple of people that have had dodgy psu packs must have been some of the very few unlucky ones as im sure it could happen to any number of monitor venders.

am i wrong in my presumption????

just noticed ock havent ordered new stock on 30" no eta and 26" are on preorder.. so maybe they are overhauling the screens they have and only releasing them under tight scrutiny when they are upto scratch?

maybe im just looking at the screens through rose tinted glasses:D but im trying to have faith in them fixing the problem.

p.s mrk when you had the hp did you find out if the ergotron lx fits it? cheers.
(not being a judas just asking a question;):D)
