Hazro - Any Update?

Quick update... my screen is BACK! :D

Turns out they had actually delivered my screen to the designated address (my work), just they hadn't told me. Only got into the office this afternoon to find it sitting under my desk.

The good news is that the new screen (yup, they sent me a replacement) has perfect uniformity. It is running firmware 1.0, which is something I requested, as I preferred the higher contrast. So now I'm happy camper :)

I think the brighter backlight in FW 1.0 evens out the backlight better.

However, mine is nicely run in now and I really don't notice any uniformity problems. At first I was very unhappy, but the screen seems even and I don't get my retinas burned using the screen. Very happy.

Some more news. Bad news unfortunately.

First screen seems ok. Although the screen is a little bit loose attached on the stand. I can move it arround horizontally!
But no dead pixels and nothing else bad i notice.

The second screen however...

While unpacking..
- i noticed many fingerprints on the screen.
- there was no protection plastic in front of the display. (my first screen had this)
- I noticed the packaging of the DVI cable had been opened already and,
the dvi cable is different than my first screen.

This looks like the screen has been used before! But this is not all..

- There is a build failure. http://img217.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img3152vy5.jpg
See the white? The OSD plate is attached wrong on the screen. My first screen doesn't have this
- There are flashing green and blue horizontal lines when the background is dark!!!!
- There is a noticable green push on this screen compared to my other screen. Same settings. Also the screen seems duller.

It looks like i will ask overclockers.co.uk to send a courier for pickup because of a DOA. :(

Also, there is a height difference. The bad screen is attached higher on the stand than the first one.

:(

I wonder how this will end. I am also posting on the biggest Dutch computerforum where people were considering to buy Hazro. Anything like this will keep them away.

try a factory reset.
If you cannot get into the menu to do so...turn on the screen > hold down arrow while pressing the power button

I will try,

Overclockers.co.uk tells me to contact Hazro and won't help me. Problem is Hazro has no direct contact. And the last mail from them about a bracket i would like to order is 1 week ago. Also, i paid overclockers.co.uk not hazro.

I now tried the factory reset. It did not work out. Problems still are the same.

This order is now giving me a lot of stress. Seems like a bad decision.

OC must help you by law, you are covered by one of DSR or SOGA (Distance Selling Regs and Sales of Goods Act respectively) depending on how long ago you bought it.

Less than 7 days, send back under DSR, less than 28 days reject it outright, less than 6 months ask for repair or replacement direct (not through Hazro as OcUK will have more clout with them) as yours is not of satisfactory quality.

I had the same issue with mine when I got it. I gripped the osd controls at the back with my forefinger and at the front with my thumb and slid the front plate down with my thumb. It clicked sounding like a clip was grasping the plate and it's never moved back up.

You can try the same, but don't moan if you snap it off :P It's what I did and may not work for you!

Well now I have my monitor back. With firmware update.

turns out it was a power supply failure as a few others have had.

the unfortunate thing is now I have it back I seem to be getting the green snow over the HDMI input :(

Im wondering wether to buy a better cable than the supplied one as I get no issues with the dvi cable (pure av, no i didnt pay for it ;))

any thoughts?

I got a call from Hazro today. They said they don't deal with international warranties and that the monitor should not have been sent out. Ok.

But, they will discuss the issue with the reseller, overclockers.co.uk, and get back to me. As an act of good gesture i will get warranty on this. They will look for the best option. refund, replacement, repair. Let's see what happens.

I have now also tried to connect via hdmi. There are no blue/green lines on that port. But problems with white screen remain. Half of the time i get a complete white screen. Even without anything connected.

Thanks for your suggestion go.mole. Hmm, i think i will pass and wait for a solution. :)
I just hope i will have a new screen as soon as possible. The first screen runs nice. Question remains what will happen with future warranty cases.

Hazro were incredible polite on the phone. That's a +

Got a question for anyone who has come to a Hazro (or any other IPS) screen from a TN panel:

How did you find the difference in tearing, in games without vsync enabled, between the TN panel and the IPS?

I ask because I find the degree of tearing to be very minimal with the TN panel I have (3ms response Iiyama 2403) - better even than the 100Hz CRT I had before that. I'm wondering if the higher response time on the Hazro 26" will lead to more noticable tearing? Of course the 3ms panel will be better in this regard, I'm just looking for a qualitative estimate of how much better. Ta :)

I play cod4 on my 24" just fine with no noticeable ghosting, looks superb.
compared to my old tn panel this is absolutely beautiful

As I'm an LCD newbie I have to ask. Why would you disable vsync when using an LCD ?

When running at more then 60fps you only see 60fps ?
When running at less than 60pfs you see less than 60fps ?

vsync adds some lag to proceedings as you have to wait for a framebuffer to be full, and a refresh window to come around.
