Hazro - Any Update?

See, it's not the cable. Upgrading to a $50 cable won't help. I think it is more likely to be monitor related.

Don't forget

- HAZRO has many problems out of the box
- HAZRO customer service takes one week or two weeks to get back to you and i still have to experience how long a RMA case will take.
- HAZRO and quality control..... it is just way below zero.

Buying one of these monitors is a big lottery.

I regret reading all the positive messages by MRK.

I have to say you got unlucky then.

Whilst my First Hazro had the banding and green snow Once they returned the firmware updated screen and I switched DVI connection on gfx card I've not had a problem since. I did point out that it took the good part of 2 months of waiting for the firmware update but the wait was worth it and they did keep in contact with me, Phil and some other guys from here whilst they were working away.

I'm not exactly going to compensate my experience and view just in case someone has an unlucky experience now!

Back in the Dell 2407WFP/2007WFP days we had even more problems and had at least 3 or 4 revisions before the 2007WFP was put right by Dell, the 2407 was never put right, they ditched it completely and brought the 2408 model out which again had problems.

Compared to that the Hazro has been a much nicer experience.

You'll also for as many happy buyers as myself too, by chance on left 4 dead I joined a campaign with some ocuk peeps and one guy bought th 30" Hazro based on one of the Hazro threads I posted in and he said he was very happy with it!

no idea, the snow was minimised when I got it back but still there on random occasions. I fixed it completely the other day (few posts back) by swapping the DVI connection on the GFX card.

Can we speak English in this forum please?

For is supposed to be "find", big woop, perfectly legible still and well done for contributing your most amazing part to the thread.

Personally I wonder if the green snow problem is in any way related to the quality of the power supply being used. My monitor is also much better with shielding, but I think either it needs a bit more or it needs cleaner power (hence the power supply theory). I still get the green snow even when using powerstrip to reduce the refresh rate, but the monitor will flash that the frequency has gone out of range before the pixels are fixed. So that cant be the only solution.
The other thing is that the behavior of the dancing pixels changes over the time the monitor is on (usually getting worse). that means to me that heat is a factor in how good a quality signal is getting to the panel. Which means again maybe a few more watts of power is needed.
Just my observations but if a electrical engineer can give his two cents maybe it can lead to other answers in how to get zero dancing pixels :)

Could be at least partially responsible.
While capacitor can actually work better after warming up components don't generally like heat and Hazros have that nuclear furnace backlight at full power all the time which might demand too much from power supply.

What some people (and Hazro too to some people?) said about the screen settling down after a few hundred hours is very true from my measurements since getting the monitor. Today i recalibrated and am getting:

0.40 for blackpoint and a white luminance closer to 120 than before with no more uniformity issues :D

Now if only Ergotron would release the 13KG supporting LX Arm soon!

Hi Terminator, I too was/am looking at the LG too, just cant find any decent retailers in the UK that are stocking it. Apart from Pixmania (France} selling it for 599.
Have you found a well known stockist for it yet?

Namorismo

Hi mate - this is the last I'll say about this screen as this thread isn't about this screen (sorry folks - couldn't find a PM option)...

Everywhere in the UK seems to sell it @ £599....the only place I found it cheaper was this seller: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-li...d=&me=&qid=&sr=&seller=&colid=&condition=used from Amazon selling it second hand "as new but opened" for £386.99.

However, this seller has had some pretty negative comments in between strings of positive feedback (93% positive); I think it'll be fine as long as nothing goes wrong but if it does, it might be difficult to get warranty because of the language barrier - still in two minds if the risk is worth it or not.

In addition to this, it's impossible to tell if the screen is version 1 or version 2 (version 2 fixes the banding issues just like on the Hazro screens) so may need to be sent to LG to be upgraded + there is a similar named (and cheap and nasty) TN panel that maybe what the seller is actually selling.

Finally I asked a few questions to the seller via email last week but have had no reply which doesn't bode well in case of any problems.

That is all :)

So back on topic then...

I sure I read somewhere that Hazro are planning on versions of their screen with an adjustable backlight in the new year...

Is that true and is there any ETA on them?

Mrk,
Now your screen has settled down, do you have any banding?
I had to once again switch back to DVI-HDMI cable on sat as they pixels are still there! And there is also banding.
Still no reply from Hazro, or OCUK.
I think i will contact OCUK again.

The banding we originally reported to Hazro is not there any more, it's all fixed :) Atm there is no visible banding to be worried about I'd say :) Also I *think* they are bringing the new versions in February but I cannot confirm this, just something I caught ear of a while back.

Gradients aren't perfect, but I wouldn't call it a 'banding problem'. It's just the nature of seeing things in 8-bit and limitations of current processing and screen technologies. I don't think I've seen better, although I never got to see the HP. I had a close look at an iMac 24" screen which uses the same panel, and it looked almost identical in this regard.

All i can say about banding is that there is some, when my apple laptops and an apple cinema display used for awhile had none!
hopefully OCUK will reply to my webnote this time.

I don't presume you qualify for the new version though.

Who knows...if the Green snow becomes a bother as I begin to use the screen moreso or in a dual screen environment (have plans to) then I'll have no choice but to contact them for further options mid next year before the onsite warranty runs out.

anyone on here in the loughborough area with a decent quality DVI - HDMI cable I could borrow?

Im thinking maybe the green fuzz could be a cable issue even at the moment, well I at least want to 100% rule it out before sending it back to hazro over christmas.
