Hazro - Any Update?

Ive never liked the look of a scaled image on an lcd.
To get newer games running decently you need to turn down the resolution. Id rather run 1680 x 1050 1:1 with borders than a blury scaled full screen.

I mentioned this in an email I sent them. They said it would be fixed in the new release of the AD board.

Oh well cant have everything I suppose.

Don't understand all the fuss about the scaling. Just use your graphic card.

I for instance use my ATI card. That way I can scale to any resolution 1:1.

Here's a few pics of HL2 at 1440x900, 1680x1050, 1920x1200, 1920x1080 in "Wide" AR mode and 1280x1024 in "4:3" AR mode to give you an idea of the quality of the new scaler chip to ease any fears of poor gaming quality at lower res if your GFX card can't quite manage native!

Excuse the reflections created by the flash, you can see the wall behind me and my Godfather frame but you can still see all of the game details.

All photos are at full 10.1MP resolution, click thumbs for full res. Please don't hotlink these elsewhere else they will be taken down!

As you can see, Gaming image quality is superb, the scaler chip was designed for this purpose (and video) and it does as intended :)

One other note, I can see more details in darker areas than previously in the older revision, the old version was good (as good as the Dell 2007WFP) but this one is even better. In fact in Crysis I turned the gamma down to default as I had to put it up a notch!

Edit*

I actually really like 1920x1080, gives me better FPS than 1920x1200 and you get to see more game world on the sides!

In that case I may wait for the newer revision... it's often very useful to have the images scaled down to older rezzes for older games.

I couldn't get my NV version of that option of that driver scaling to work when I tried a Yaruka 24" monitor. :(

mrk can you try this with your drivers?

That looks really, really awesome... and would be a godsend for those of us currently dualling or intending to dual with a 1080P LCD.

This monitor is almost perfect.

Hee hee. Id forgot about that, this being my first LCD n all Ive never had to use it.
But its still besides the point though, being as hazro said they would fix 1:1.
As I say you cant have every thing, but this is a good work around though
Thanks for the reminder :)

Ive literally just tried with the Xtreme-G 174.74 version of the NVidia drivers which work fine.

heres a quick question if i order a Hazro HZ24W now off OcUK will i be getting the Hazro HZ24Wi.

Just want to know incase of a price hike.

Really wish we could get an update from OCUK on this. Were they meant to arrive by the end of last month?

Yeah same. If they can say they will have them in a few weeks then fine otherwise I guess im going to order the benq monitor i was looking at.. Dont want to wait ages :(

I'm in the same boat as you mate. Feels like i've been waiting for ages already. I mean, im still on a 17inch and even the gf has a 22inch! Of course, she didn't really care about anything except size (hur hur), but i've been waiting for the perfect monitor for all my uses. I too will probably get a benq if I can't get a Hazro soon!

Noooooooo don't do it! with the BenQ you might suffer from random blackouts, backlight bleeding, face burning heat which is sent through the panel towards you!

And BenQ customer support is absolutley crap, you could buy a brand new £450 monitor and if it develops a fault with months they'll send some crappy old one out as a replacement.

Not when i had to RMA one a few years back i eventually got a brand new replacement out of them, ive had 3 replacements from BenQ in the space of 10 days all either in crap condition or not working.
