Hazro - Any Update?

It's HDMI in not out :) the RCA sockets are also RCA audio inputs (been playing with camcorder/camera and the picture in picture, works nicely!, the OSD allows you to select which source has audio priority as well which is nice.

I went originally from a Dell Trinitron flatscreen CRT to a LG Flatron CRT then to a TN panel and from then on I have had:

AG Neovo 17" TB square
Hyundai N91W 19" TN wide
Samsung 19" TN wide
Dell E207EFP 20" TN wide
Dell 2007WFP 20" IPS wide
Dell 2408WFP 24" VA wide
Hyundai 24" VA wide
BenQ FP241W 24" VA wide
Hazro HZ24W 24" IPS wide
Hazro HZ24Wi 24" IPS wide

The only screen out of all of these that I had noticed issues in fast moving apps/games is the Dell 2408WFP, it had very clearly visible input lag and delay and I returned it on day 1.

The Hazro has been the closest yet next to the 2007WFP for gaming performance in my experience for smoothness and feel of games. Since the new revision does not have a small black trail after the mouse cursor on a white background there is no sense of motion blur in games anymore either.

PixperAN test to show you the lack of motion blurring of fast moving objects (shot 1/1000sec):

The old revision had 3 to 4 black trails following the car which was the black ghosting on the mouse cursor I was talking about above. The BenQ FP241W also had this but fewer "ghosts". the "i" revision has no black ghosts only a single motion trail which is invisible in motion.

night: I don't know anyone with a CRT large enough :/ unless any ocukers live close by I can pick them up if they don't have a car :p
I seriously would not worry about the input lag tests though, I found zero issues with gaming after the first day or two on the first revision and this feels even faster (hopefully the pixperan test above shows how sharp it is on fast motion objects too).

The black ghost I talk about can be seen in the tests done here http://www.behardware.com/art/imprimer/648/ (notice the differences between the Hazro and the NEC 20WGX2 ! Even on a worst case scenario image of the car the car is still very sharp and not blurred or fuzzy like most of the other screens done on the test by behardware.

Thanx so much for your elaborate tests. And at this hour :D You are truely the man.

Reg. Input Lag. Most people wouldn't notice inputlag of 30ms or about 2 frames. But I play a lot of high level HalfLife2Deathmatch. A very fast paced online FPS.
With a lag of 2 frame you are rather crippled. I was hoping for about 1 frame lag ;)

Sure hope someone as obsessed as me steps up and lends you a CRT

It's the weekend so sleep doesn't exist :D

I used to play HL2 DM until the TF2 updates rolled in, no issues on the old revision and no issues from the new (as you'd expect though hehe)

hehe ok. will probably buy one anyway. I think you sold this screen to a lot of people already.

Americans are dying to get hold of it.

Us Europeans all hold our breath for OcUK to stock the beasts :)

Still might hold of to see if the 26" should indeed be faster ;)

Deep down I wish I had waited for the 26" too lol, perhaps I can still get it if I sell the 24" because, 26 is a bigger number than 24 after all!

But alas, I have a perfect 24" with no dead pixels, no issues, nothing! just smooth operation and nice colours so I will probably end up sticking with it for several years until the next general standard in high end desktop resolution and gaming comes about!

Just let me know if you want to sell :D

I really want the 24" more because of the lower dotpitch which makes for a sharper image

Nice one again mrk :) Very helpfull fella! Can anyone confirm if the non-native rez would increase the input lag or not? I guess 30ms isnt bad but the 26" scores are better..

Well there's no lag I can notice at native res so this is a good thing (I did notice some motion blurring on old revision but none on this one).

I only game at native res though and with gfx card prices today native res should be the absolute standard for gameplay :)

Thanks for all the work you have gone to mrk; can feel my credit card coming out as soon as I see OC have it.

If there are any problems and the screen needs to be RMA'd is this done with Overclockers or with Hazro?

oh yeah definately planned to keep it at native rez, just wondered if being at native rez resulted in a lower input lag is all :) Im sure someone would know

mrk, any chance you could repeat the input lag test with the Hazro set to 1:1 mapping (i.e. a small box in the middle) as this should bypass the scaler chip and may give an idea as to what the native res input lag is like?

Also, is the power brick the same? Mine's kind of wired in to an Ikea cable management under tray so removing it would be a bit of a pain!

It's 1:1 for some resolutions (mainly 1080p) not 1280x1024, in 1280x1024 the scaled is scaled vertically leaving bars on left/right :)

That's a step back then, I was able to do 800x600 in a tiny window on my current one the other day. What AR mode have you got it in? There are three on the old model: User (1:1 pixel mapping), Full (stretched) and Aspect (stretched, but with proper AR).
