Hazro - Any Update?

I think if it were driver related then the monitor would have still responded when it went black (power light or anything) no? I suspect the power supply just getting too hot: when it happened I replugged the power cord into the back of the monitor with no response, same with the DVI cable, the only way I could get a response was by turning off the power supply from the mains.

Maybe yesterday's black screen was driver related, since it came back after 10 seconds, although I was still just idling when it happened. Confusing!

Rajveer, bad news. I have two 24 WI's here and my second one has the same symptoms the past week. It happened twice. I thought the problem is drivers, but now i start to worry....

IRT Mailman - Try setting it at 1680x1050: the only actual 16:10 resolution available to you on the 360. The borders will be forced on the console's end, meaning it'll permenantly maintain the 16:9 aspect ratio. The only downside to this is the obvious degradation of interpolation quality, and the possible increase in input lag as a result of the Hazro's additional scaling job.

Otherwise, I'd recommend using a component cable instead. I don't own a Hazro, but I imagine the company realised that most, if not all, applications (games consoles/DVD players) connected via this input will arrive at 16:9.

Hmm I was hoping it was possible that the monitor could scale a 1920x1080 picture correctly automatically (I think I worked that out correctly, I can't remember the resolution I use of the top of my head).

I previously was using a component cable, and the monitor did recognise the picture as a 1080p one, but still stretched the picture vertically by default. There is also a definate quality difference between component and VGA on this monitor for me which was the reason I switched back to a VGA cable I already had anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions though.

I wouldn't mind so much about this really but I really hate the touch sensitive panel underneath the screen. Sometimes it just works flawlessly but other times I press as hard as I can and it simply refuses to recognise I've actually pressed a button. :p

Guys I have the incling that Hazro will no longer be doing business.
I purchased a Hazro (the 26" model) last week and it arrived with a couple of faults but overall it seemed a decent product - and I was opting for a replacement rather than a refund.

Anyway throughout the next few days I contacted OCUK to let them know about the faults etc. and asked them whether the new Hazro monitors would be released anytime soon, in which case I would wait for the replacement to be one of those.

Got a message back from OCUK saying "Unfortunately sir, I dont think we are planning to sell any updated revisions of the Hazro range."
Draw what conclusions you will from this, but imo - aswell as ocuk offering me a refund rather than a replacement (replacement is usually preferable to businesses) this seems to suggest that Hazro are having some issues atm.

Well looks like I'll be ringing OCUK tomorrow :(

Lucky for me I'm down in Uttoxeter from Liverpool for the weekend so I can pop in on Saturday if I need to moan for a refund :(

Now just to choose a new screen and it looks like OCUK don't do the HP any more.

I suspect OcUK are just fed up with all the grief to be honest. Can you blame them?

You'll have to keep an eye on their site and buy it from an OMG! Competitor ;)

Hah nah, I've gone for the Samsung T260 instead from OCUK. I hear good things and its shaved £150 off what I paid for the Hazro :p

Fairy nuff. I'm quite happy with my HZ26Wi, I got it when they had it on offer for 400 quid and I was well aware of the firmware issues. Mine is working fine with my ATI card so long as I enable reduced blanking.

Anyone got another HZ26Wi (2.1FW only) that they want to sell me for cheap?

Hi guys, just thought i'd post this as I mentioned I would be parting with the Hazro and replacing it with the Samsung T260.

Now tis is obviously a TN panel and £150 cheaper but overall i'm pretty happy with it. I'm still tweaking it here and there - and without a dooubt the Hazro beat it colour wise and vertical viewing angles were uniform.

However - the T260 is nowhere near as bad as you might expect (being so big aswell). I'm finding it easier to look at than the Hazro mind you and text seems clearer.

I will miss the Hazro but overall i'm generally happy having saved £150 at the trade off of a higher colour quality / luminance .

w00t :D

Finally got a call from Hazro today.

The guy suspects the power supply has failed, but to be on the safe side they're just going to swap the whole monitor out with a brand new one :) Also to make sure that I don't get another issue with the power supply, they're going to put the power supply from the HZ30W in with the new screen instead of the usual HZ24Wi one. Apparently they have a much lower failure rate.

So early next week they'll grab my old one and give me my new one :)

I just wish they were quicker at getting back to people!

I've had my monitor for quite a long time (around September I think) and for the first time today, it switched off for no reason and I couldn't turn it back on. I was just idling it Windows at the time, no gaming or anything. It wouldn't turn back on so I had to turn off and on the mains switch, seems to be fine now.

It actually went black yesterday and came back on after around 10 secs, I thought it was my new gfx card but I'm not too sure now. Anybody else had problems after this happened to them? Is this the beginning of my monitor failing?

Haven't read all of the replies since this post, but this is exactly what happened with my monitor 2 days prior to the power supply going kaboom.

Well my Hazro HZ26Wi is still going strong and I'm enjoying it!

Apart from a weird issue where the top of the backlight flickers slightly when the monitor is still warming up and a red, bright-pixel is apparent towards the bottom and a 1/3rd in from the left hand side of the screen, the display overall is really good!

I've settled for a colour temp of 9300K (bizaarly) which seems to look fairly natural to me and not wide-gamut like anymore.

As a gamer, the screen excels at:

- Low/no ghosting...very crisp and clean image in FPS games
- No input lag...."feels" like a CRT in this respect....made a big difference to me
- Excellent panel uniformity....no backlight bleeding and very balanced
- Actually fairly good black depth/contrast....been really enjoying playing L4D that I recently purchased
