Hazro - Any Update?

Got my replacement this morning.
Some pics of how glossy it can be if you have a window behind you during the day.

Is this the black or silver version? Is the rear side aluminium color for both models?

I thought black model was much closer to pastel black color, the monitor in the picture expecially on the left side looks dark grey (maybe it's only the flash or the aluminium surface). What about the rear?

yeah ... the Monitor is definately Black. Its a brushed alluminium anodised black. The Flash has lit the frame a little. It looks worse on the bottom picture as the focus is more so on the reflection.

As for the rear of the monitor its a bronze colour not black.

Thanks guys!! Mrk I didnt understand what's the rear side color of the 4 possible combos (rev. I/non rev.I and black/silver): is the rear side bronze for all? is the rear size bronze for the "rev. I" models and aluminium grey for the "not rev. I" models or silver models have aluminium and black models have bronze for both "rev. I" and not?

Do someone of you have some pics of a silver model front side?

There is no colour difference, I just mentioned rev "i" so people know which revsion ;p same casing and colours just different panel and inputs.

Reading the manuals posted earlier, the 24" Wi screen has changed quite a bit.

The previous revision (W) had a luminance figure of 500 Cdm2 whereas the Wi (new) has a figure of 400 Cdm2
And from a couple of guys on here, this new screen has one or two issues.
Also the old 24" (W) revision had a contrast ration of 800:1, the same as the 26" model, but now it is down to 700:1

It might be that you get more than you bargained for with the new revision....not just a firmware update o.O

The 26" Wi model spec is identical to the W so I would expect it to have a non glossy screen and hopefully the same low input lag 16ms I believe ??
This is what I am leaning towards.
Roll on Monday !

In termns of input lag the 26" should be better than the 24", but the main difference imao is the gamut: I've discarded both the 26" and 30" not for the size or price but just because they have wide gamut panel and I need a standard gamut one for my job... I still don't understand why the most part of the new lcd monitors have wide gamut: games and movies should use sRGB gamut, and as far as I know there's only a few photo/video editing and 3D modeling programs that supports wide gamut.

Damn, I had almost decided on getting the OCUK value 24" monitor but the high quality of the Wi 24" is definitely tempting. As someone who uses computers for browsing, videos and games (so no art, design, etc), is the Wi worth the price difference?

Wide Gamut on SRGB material is perfectly fine if you have a colour calibration device - you won't notice any difference but will benefit from the wider gamut in applications that support it (Photoshop, Firefox, Vista native etc).

I can't remember but does the 26" have internal LUT? if it does then I may well just sell the 24" and buy the 26" because having an internal LUT will be ideal for me so when I connect up other pcs or sources the colours can remain calibrated to the screen rather than the GFX card attached to the main PC.

Have you all guys bought the black version? Is there someone here who bought the silver model? I would like to see some good pics of the silver version...

The black one looks a bit dead, a sort of washed black without soul(could be a wrong feeling), if it was deep black or glossy shining black (like samsung tv) I would go for it but I think I'll go for the silver one.

Had the OcUK for a week the brightness of the screen was killing me and giving me headaches. But that is of course my subjective opinion. Beside from that a very nice screen with almost zero input lag.

To clear things up regarding the HZ26Wi I recieved 100% confirmation from Hazro. HZ26Wi wil NOT be GLOSSY.

mrk: I'll still buy your HZ24Wi if the price is right :D However I'm from Denmark and private shipping might be excessive ?

As far as I've read on certain digital photography books and blogs wide gamut it's not simply an extension of the standard one: just to make an example if the srgb can represent 100 colors and the argb 150 this doesn't mean that the 1st 100 colors are the same and the wide gamut adds only 50 new colors.
They work with different primary colors so if you have a different green, blue and red you can't reproduce a true srgb image on argb panel.
If you use a calibrator you can only make an approximation, this approx is surely better than the one provided themself by certain monitors but it's still an approximation.

You probably won't notice the difference while playing games and use "office applications" but I think you will notice it when watching movies or working on photos (over saturated colors, loss of details expecially on grey tones).

I would like an expert in photography, monitors and color spaces standards to come here and talk us all the truth about gamuts because if what I read around and said here it's not correct I could consider to buy a lot of other monitors.

That's good to know. I was easy either way about it being glossy. Hearing people complain about the reflection was causing some doubt in my mind. However if it is glossy, I won't be upset, as I don't have a light source which lands on the monitor when I am in front of it.

Why would they make the 24Wi glossy and not the 26Wi?

That's a good question :D Dunno. But I do know that was the fact that made the choice easy for me. Having owned a series of LCD's I definitely want GLOSSY. It just looks so much better. Makes the colors much more vibrant and black much deeper. On the other hand as mentioned earlier in this thread it has some negative impact on viewing angle. But in my experience it's worth it :D
