Hazro - Any Update?

Have you all guys bought the black version? Is there someone here who bought the silver model? I would like to see some good pics of the silver version...

The black one looks a bit dead, a sort of washed black without soul(could be a wrong feeling), if it was deep black or glossy shining black (like samsung tv) I would go for it but I think I'll go for the silver one.

Give me about an hour, need to bath and bed the nipper, then will bust out the camera to take a few pics of my old rev silver model.

They have changed the screen on the 24" Wi it used to be the same as the 26" model.
Points me even more towards buying the 26" model.

Thing is, the panel on the new 24Wi is actually better than the last one. Mrk has shown it has better colour accuracy both out of the box and when calibrated and it's also H-IPS, which is an improvement on S-IPS.

according to the online PDF instruction for the 24Wi and the 26Wi

Contrast ratio 700:1 800:1 [1600:1 DCR ] for the 24 and 26 respectively

and for BOTH...Surface Treatment Hard coating(3H), Anti-glare treatment of the front polarizer. Would this imply that the 26Wi also has a glossy coat?

do you guys think it is good or bad that it isn't glossy? What are the pros and cons

Pro's are it can increase the perception of saturation and make colours look deeper (hence why it's used on TN panels a lot). Personally, I don't mind it - my lappy has a glossy screen and even in sunlight I don't really notice many reflections with the brightness turned up to a sensible level.

Cons are, well, some people just don't like glossy screens, and some people have their monitor setup with a window close by which can lead to reflections. Won't really bother me as there is a window to the right about 3 metres away from my desk and I don't use a room light, only a small lamp pointed at the wall behind the monitor (find it reduces eye strain).

EDIT: as promised, a couple of (bad, I'm not a photographer) photos of the Hazro taken with an oldish ixus 50 - so please excuse their general shoddyness.

So what do you think then boys, is this the monitor to buy and was it worth all the waiting, what a re the pros and what are the cons, will this still put the dell in the shade even after the firm ware upgrade that every one is waiting for regards input lag.

It's worth it :)

One thing I don't understand though is why the 24" weighs mor ethan the 26" ? The site says 9KG for the 26" but 10 for the 24"

It's the only reason I have not ordered the Ergotron Arm yet!

Check the new PDF manual on their site, the 24 is now listed as 10.9 and the 26 as 12.5

I just weighed mine using electronic scales and it's 7.4KG :/

Edit*

Gonna order the Ergotron!

Out of curiosity, which ergotron are you thinking of getting mrk?

Is that weight, with or without the stand?

Will you get one that can hold a 26", just in case ;)

Each to their own, I just felt after seeing it in the flesh it looked "cheaper" than the silver.

Thanks for the pics philjohn - looks good in silver too, a bit like the Apple Displays. I prefer black based on that the rest of my computer gear is black.

I've just ordered the Ergotron LX desk arm (Black) - came to £80 inc del so bargain!

My HZ24Wi was 7.4KG with stand btw. The stand feels like it weighs a fair bit so that weight should go down a chunk too. Will review it all when set up next week!

The LX will defo hold the 26" if the Hazro weight spec is correct!

Nice one, i'll look forward to seeing the pics - i don't think you can really go far wrong with Ergotron.

Did you have to purchase any accessories from Hazro to enable you to do this?

You have to get a mounting plate which is now in the manual as an extra that needs to be ordered. Same as with the Apple Cinema Displays.
