Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

I don't believe the hazro's have pixel overdrive. The WC's at least

Yes they do. And he is correct. Overdrive is tuned to specific refresh rates. IPS panel monitors are not designed to run at such frequencies as 100Hz and the Hazros not beyond 60Hz natively. Essentially the benefits of doing so are relatively slim if you don't have the overdrive-tuned pixel responsiveness to keep up with it. Furthermore; you don't know the longer term effects as stated above. When the tech is ready refresh rates will follow. My advice; stay away from that program.

Incidentally I used to be into running monitors at higher than rated refresh rates. Could be coincidental but they didn't seem to last as long as others in the office. And the benefit gained was slim.

Mmmh anyone knows if it's recommend to enable "use extended display identification data"? It seems to give a more yellow'ish/warmer image though I'm not sure if that's closer to how colours should look like. Don't suppose anyone with a calibrator can compare how accurate the colours are with it on/off?

Going by the description it sounds like a good idea to turn it on but it must be disabled by default for good reason?

Anyone have any idea if the glass ones are going to come back into stock any time soon?

Had a hunt around and overclockers were the only guys stocking them but now it just seems to be the none-glass version :(

"If you do buy the screen and you're unimpressed I'll chop off both my legs and use them as feet gloves to slap myself with."

Hehe :)

Any idea how it fairs for gaming, input lag/ghosting etc?

I was under the impression that running standard LCDs at anything other than 60Hz has a negative effect on the pixel response time, as it interferes with the overdrive function?

Hi.

How much is the negative effect time on the pixel response time, if you overlock your monitor? Is there any reviews/articles on this issue?

Hi.

I found this one. And on TFT Central they says:

So running at 75Hz causes the RTC control to function incorrectly, reducing responsiveness, but having the positive effect that RTC errors / overshoot are reduced. Benoit Dupont over at Tom's Hardware also noticed that the artefacts and overshoot on some RTC enabled monitors was reduced by moving away from the 60Hz recommended refresh rate.

I think the only way to find out, how the overlocking affects my monitor, is to find out yourself. For example on this program PixPerAn.

sad panda. saw these in the flesh and much preferred the glass version to the none-glass.

I guess I'll be going with 2 x none-glass then!

Hi.

Go for the glass version! When I first get my HazroWC glass version, it was WOW! In the future, I will always buy the glass version of the monitor, if it possible. Colours and contrast are amazing.

The HZ27WC that I ordered arrived earlier today. Unfortunately it came with a very noticeable cluster of dead pixels and the bevel intrudes slightly upon the screen in the centre when viewed from a normal angle. I'm going to have to phone up OcUK tomorrow and arrange for it to be returned/replaced - it should be covered by warranty but I'll have to confirm that. :( In terms of image quality it's great and the pixel density is higher than the Dell U2410 I upgraded from. The design quality is good, though the stand isn't great (the screen wobbles if the desk is moved even a small amount; i.e. resting my arms on it). If it wasn't for the dead pixels and bevel issue I'd certainly recommend it.

You will find the dead pixel policy is prerry terrible with Hazro, chances are you won't be able to RMA the screen, I would send it back through the 7 days return policy.

Yeah, thanks for the advice. I had a read of Hazro's dead pixel policy and while I'm believe mine is above the 5 pixel tolerance they specify I really don't want to take the risk, as then I'd lose the ability to return it, have to live with the fault and be charged £45. I guess I'll have to use the Distance Selling Regulations but I'll phone up OcUK tomorrow and see what they have to say. I wouldn't mind if it was just one or two barely noticeable pixels but it's a large cluster.

Unfortunately there aren't any replacement models due in until the 23rd March. I can either wait or consider the HZ30Wie... dunno. I'm just a bit disappointed, as it's a load of hassle that I really didn't want.

I have the H27wc and am very pleased with it.

Does anyone know if there is a solution for the bios screens not showing up with ATI/AMD graphics cards on start-up? If I remember correctly Hazro stated that this was an AMD problem and would be corrected in future cards.

I've just purchased a Gigabyte Windforce HD7950 due to the demise of my GTX480 and am having this problem which frankly is driving me up the wall.

Any info appreciated,

Cheers.

This will never get fixed, Hazro are not interested in this problem. Beleave me I have tried to get any kind of answer out of them. I have had my Hazro C for 1 year and they insist this is an AMD issue yet there is no sign of any firmware fixes or actual reason for the problem

I blame the monitor itself evem more now I hear it doesnt work on 7xxx series cards AND a GTX480

This makes me mad because Hazro refused to let me RMA it for this issue and now its probably too late.

Absolutely hate Hazro now. (and yes for the whole year I aint even seen my BIOS)
