Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

Yeah, thanks for the advice. I had a read of Hazro's dead pixel policy and while I'm believe mine is above the 5 pixel tolerance they specify I really don't want to take the risk, as then I'd lose the ability to return it, have to live with the fault and be charged £45. I guess I'll have to use the Distance Selling Regulations but I'll phone up OcUK tomorrow and see what they have to say. I wouldn't mind if it was just one or two barely noticeable pixels but it's a large cluster.

Unfortunately there aren't any replacement models due in until the 23rd March. I can either wait or consider the HZ30Wie... dunno. I'm just a bit disappointed, as it's a load of hassle that I really didn't want.

This might not be the only issue you have the Hazro, the company has poor support as well as a range of other problems with there monitors, I would go buy a Dell any day even if it cost me a lot more, imo they are a shambles company.

The problem with Dell's larger monitors is that they are more expensive and offer inferior response times. I value companies that offer better support but that cannot come at the expense of the core product.

The bios screen issue is an odd one. I have two PC's using 5830's and initially has this problem. Something changed and I could then see the bios screen without any problem. I have no idea why but it doesn't effect everyone and doesn't seem consistent. I'd love to know why...

This will never get fixed, Hazro are not interested in this problem. Beleave me I have tried to get any kind of answer out of them. I have had my Hazro C for 1 year and they insist this is an AMD issue yet there is no sign of any firmware fixes or actual reason for the problem

I blame the monitor itself evem more now I hear it doesnt work on 7xxx series cards AND a GTX480

This makes me mad because Hazro refused to let me RMA it for this issue and now its probably too late.

Absolutely hate Hazro now. (and yes for the whole year I aint even seen my BIOS)

Thanks for the reply Wizz.

Pretty disappointing that this hasn't been resolved. Any prospective buyers of AMD 7950 graphics cards (possibly other models in the current generation also) should take note of this as a different monitor will be a requirement for setting up your bios!

It would be good to hear Hazro chip in on this as I'm pretty sure they stated that this problem would be fixed on the ATI 6XXX cards. Not resolving this has to be hurting their sales I'd have thought.

PS The bios did show up ok on the Hazro with my old GTX480.

Mmmh anyone knows if it's recommend to enable "use extended display identification data"? It seems to give a more yellow'ish/warmer image though I'm not sure if that's closer to how colours should look like. Don't suppose anyone with a calibrator can compare how accurate the colours are with it on/off?

Going by the description it sounds like a good idea to turn it on but it must be disabled by default for good reason?

Would like to know this too!

Tried both but as usual when switching between settings you don't get a good comparison as your eyes are used to the previous setting.

I phoned OcUK and they arranged to have the monitor picked up on Monday.

Oh, and here's a screenshot of the bevel issue on the HZ27WC:

Ignore the image quality, as it was taken on my phone and I cranked up the brightness. There should be a white line that appears around the entire screen. If I look from beneath then I can see it but when viewed normally from the front the issue is noticeable - the plastic is not flexible enough to move (nor would I risk it).

I've just gone back to my Dell U2410 while my Hazro is being replaced and I'm astounded by the difference in quality. The HZ27WC has a much, much sharper image and it's only now that I really notice the Dell's anti-glare coating, which creates a sort of "sheen" across the screen. The response time on the Hazro is also considerably better, even when just moving your mouse quickly across the screen. The only slight disadvantage is that it's more reflective, though that's mainly because I have a window directly behind me - if I draw the curtain (as I usually do when gaming) then it's great. And that it doesn't support HDCP, though I have a 42" LED 1080p TV hooked up to my computer for watching media.

I really hope I can get it resolved as quickly as possible, as otherwise I was incredibly impressed by the monitor.

I went from an iMac to the Dell u2711 and noticed the AG so much that I returned it and got the HZ27WD, Dell is better in just about every way...apart from image quality which the Hazro without the AG destroys it.

Been having an odd issue lately with my WD. Been running 6950's in crossfire for a half year connected via DVI-D, and not had any issues.

Got a 7950 over the weekend, and am sure when first started using it I was not having issues, but at some point I started having "pre-windows" blank screen, which sounds a lot like what many people were experiencing with older cards - but it's not quite the same.

I can get into the BIOS and that displays fine, and after turning off the "show full screen logo" I can see the text for when it gives you the option to "press delete to enter BIOS". But I don't see the RAID screens prior to that.

I am sure it only started after I tried using displayport again - which I never have luck with. It works for the most part, but often when windows starts I get this weird problem where the resolution is the correct 2560x1440, but the desktop size itself is like 800x600.

Am sure was only after this that this problem started on DVI.

Any suggestions? It's not critical, but it is annoying.

pete have you ever experienced any buzzing or squealing from your WC? Could you do me a favour if you get chance and load the picture on this link in full screen by clicking on it to zoom in and tell me if it squeels for you?

I'm trying to find out if all the hazros do it or not

As does mine.

How weird!?

do you notice it on general browsing concorde?

I've started to notice this on webpages now too.

If it gets any worse it's going back.

Shame the panel is so good and the QC is so ****. I bet its just a poor quality cap squealing, hardly going to add much to the price of the monitor if they use higher quality ones :/

I own a HZ27WD non glass and just want someone to confirm for me, will an xbox or ps3 work ok with it thru HDMI? Not fussed on audio as that will be run off into a seperate amp anyway. Just want to make sure the monitor will work with the consoles before I buy one cheers

Not really unless your design work requires a wide gamut monitor. Big advantage - glossy so everything looks better. Big disadvantage no super Dell-support and no height adjustable stand.
